Re: Battery degredation

I don't think that the usable capacity of a 2014 is actually 21kWh, but no one knows for sure :) I think assuming 18.5kWh usable is safer and so waiting until it drops under 12kWh usable should be the way to go if time permits. Of course if your battery warranty is about to expire around 13kWh, I wo...

Re: 2016 vs 2014

When using the car console numbers, try to take the numbers when both the kWh and the % change at the same time.
That will reduce the rounding errors.

Also if possible take numbers when there is no conditioning value as this increases the magnitude of rounding errors by 50%

Re: Battery degredation

The energy screen does take the regen braking into account. If you go down a hill with a lot of regen, you will see the kWh and % go down together, so regen or not the extrapolated usable capacity calculated from these numbers will be the same regardless of how much regen you had. Regen has nothing ...

Re: Place Key in Transmitter Pocket

Thanks, but no the battery were installed right.

I bought a new set of batteries, and these worked.
The only difference is they were CR2032H instead of CR2032.

No idea why the other ones did not work, especially as they were putting out 3,2V.

Keyfob did not open the car, so I went ahead and changed the battery, nothing Got the spare keyfob, put a brand new battery in (both batteries tested at 3.2V) nothing I can open and start the car with the key inserted, but b...

Re: Considering buying used 2015 Spark EV with 22K miles

What Miles/kWh do you get on the trip meter when reset before a day of driving. Because if you get less that 4.4 Miles/kWh, then the culprit is more likely your driving style / condition than the battery degradation. A rough estimate of the usable capacity of the battery when new is 19kWh. The EPA E...

Re: Considering buying used 2015 Spark EV with 22K miles

3.4mi/kWh means it was driven hard or in hard conditions, it does not really reflect the battery condition. But it would explain why the guess O meter is estimating a low range. In my experience, it can take over 3 days of a new driving style/condition for the range estimate to adjust to them. So a ...
