Re: 2014 Spark EV down to 15.3kWh, time to take it to the dealer?

I am down to 14kWh, so I will be interested to hear what they tell you :)

Are they charging you anything for the evaluation of your battery capacity?

Thanks

Re: 2014 Spark EV down to 15.3kWh, time to take it to the dealer?

Well, the nominal capacity (20 or 21kwh) has definitely nothing to do with the % degradation, as you never got to use that full capacity in the first place. The usable capacity value does not officially appears any where, but is believed to be around 18.4 kWh From the warranty terms, GM is the only ...

Re: 2015 Chevy Spark EV battery

And remember, the range estimate has nothing to do with the battery charge level. It is just a guess on how many miles you may be able to do on a full charge, based on the last few days of use. So when it changes significantly, it is almost in every case, because the driving conditions have changed ...

In my experience, the guess O meter range is based on about the last 4 days of driving / charging cycles.

Your better than EPA driving is now compensating for your loss in charge capacity :)

Re: 17.1 capacity

I guess that I should have said "nobody is going to get over 4.5 miles/kWh on flat ground at 60 mph unless drafting a truck". :? I *never* managed to get 5 m/kWh on the freeway - it was always around 4.0-4.5. It depends on many things, but top speed is a key factor. If you drive 70mph or more on th...

Re: Advice on buying a used 2015 Spark Ev

I bought a 2014 spark with 52k miles, at that time I estimated the usable capacity to be 16 kWh
I now have 62k miles and the estimated capacity is down to 15 kWh.
I plot it every month and it is a steady decline.

Re: Changing digital readout from Centigrade to Fahrenheit

I'm a big fan of the silent acceleration that does not attract attention, and in the same spirit of not attracting attention, would prefer the same advantage for deceleration. Being discreet during acceleration is understandable and harmless. But I fail to see any benefit in not attracting attentio...
