Video - The Police Bolt EV

Hey folks, I know a lot of the active members on the forum are EV enthusiasts, so I thought I'd share this video here. Last week I had the opportunity to ask the Sergeant who has driven the Bolt EV in Hyattsville, MD for the past three years, some questions:

Re: Battery Degradation vs Battery Limited Warranty

I traveled 700 miles to Fresno to buy a 2014 with 5900 miles on it hoping everything would be fresh. My first two days are showing about 11.5 KWH on what was a 21 KWH battery :o As soon as the title is transferred I'll be on my way to the dealership to check into the warranty! Yikes! Does it have D...

Re: About to purchase a 2015....

I remember owing $12,000 when I bought my Corolla and having a $200/month car payment. I bet you could find a good Volt for $9k and if your credit is decent, that should be $150/month.

Re: About to purchase a 2015....

Yea im driving 60-70 mph (usually 60-65) hwy commute. So it would only be worth it if i have 240v connection at home and the farm? Keep in mind, if all of a sudden you need to go somewhere else (back home, hospital, etc), you may have hours of wait time for charging. Just my opinion, but this is no...

Re: About to purchase a 2015....

My commute is 65 miles a day round trip and i will be able to 110 charge at my farm. The spark can handle that correct? Also any advice for a new owner would be much appreciated thanks! I'll keep it as short as possible, I own a 2015 Spark EV and 2019 Bolt EV. Before I got laid off, my daily commut...

Re: 12 fast charges and 690 miles driven in 24 hours

I've been wanting to take our 2015 from Raleigh to Winston-Salem, but have yet to try it out... Bryan in Raleigh Cool! Within the next year, that should be the most dense corridor in the state, in regards to fast chargers. We have a bunch of Efacec units at the Electrify America sites that are goin...

12 fast charges and 690 miles driven in 24 hours

You read it right, my Spark was taken on a proper road trip. I had to make the trip anyways (did 1,709 miles total in 7 days), and after reading an inside evs article about a recent range test of the Spark EV @ 70mph, I saw a commenter say the Spark wasn't capable of going on a real road trip. Boom!...

Re: Electrify America Charging Station Problems

While there are a lot of aggravating factors here, to me, chief amongst those is that EA has decided to "legitimately upgrade" the actual 50kw BTC Power station sites they installed in many places (some of those grey wrenches are comprised of those). Whether they just decided it was better to put ma...

Re: Electrify America Charging Station Problems

That footage was only used because it had Efacec stations in it. If I had other footage without me in it, it would have been used (like the first two clips). While I agree looking at someone talking has zero added benefit, it does sometimes help me concentrate on the subject at hand (a benefit my vi...

Re: Electrify America Charging Station Problems

Why do people have to video themselves into their youtube posts, and try to pretend it is an informational post? I challenge your assertion that this wasn't informational. I alluded to it being a big problem a week ago and why, then I confirmed it and made a video, because no EV news or even genera...
