Re: Charge Cycle won't end

This started happening recently on my Spark. It seems to mainly happen after I've taken it out for a long drive and used up most of the range. At first we thought it was because of the warm days of summer, but then the fans kept running on some really cool days. Took it to Chevy and was told there w...

Re: Drive home 100 mile legs... How slow to drive?

When I've had to get a lot of miles out of my car, I get off the highway as much as possible so I can go slow and use the regenerative braking. Doing that for 450 miles could be nice if there are interesting towns to go through or could be so excruciatingly slow and nerve-racking as you watch the ba...

Re: Need info from techies & midwest Spark owners

You have to be adventuresome / crazy / idiotic to live there without an enclosed garage. I might be all three  Thanks for the input everyone. I'll probably just keep renting cars while I'm there. If I decide to do something crazy, I'll let you know how it goes. My last car rental, a Ford Focus...

Re: Need info from techies & midwest Spark owners

if someone in the family does a significant amount of driving, if their current gas/diesel guzzler is not fuel efficient, the fuel savings alone could pay for insurance and some of the vehicle cost. Offer to throw them some money if they'll let you use it while you're in town. Hope they don't inste...

Need info from techies & midwest Spark owners

From another thread, I see that SparkEVs are really starting to spread across the country, so I'm hoping I can get some advice from those of you who live in colder parts of the US and Canada. I know nothing about storing cars in snowy weather. We complain about the cold here when it gets below 30ºF ...

Re: So it's time for another car...

I got my SparkEV soon after they came out. It is a 2014, but I actually bought it in July 2013 so it is over 5 years old. It has 43,300 miles on the odometer. I don't baby my little blue car. I drive it normally, accelerating when I have to and staying with the speed of traffic. I hate the feel of "...

Re: New owner of one of the oldest SPARK EVs around

Sounds like your car is doing just fine for its age. I have an LT1 without the DCFC that I bought new in July 2013. I live on the Central Coast of California so the weather here is pretty mild in comparison to other states. In my normal driving, I don't "baby" my car. I drive it as I would drive a g...

Re: There and back again: Spark EV goes to Canada

This post makes me so happy! I love the idea you took the Spark on such a long journey. My little Sparkie doesn't have the fast charger so it stays in the county. It's such a fun car to drive, I'd love to take it further.

Re: My Spark finally let me down

Well, much concern over nothing. Just the 12V battery needed to be replaced.
I'm getting close to 4 years on my Spark, so this really caught my attention. Was there any indication or warning prior to the dead battery that the 12V was about to go?

MrDRMorgan wrote: ..... Personally, I think Chevy made a BIG mistake by not keeping the Spark EV in production. It can't be beat for local in-town use and is much more electrically efficient than the Bolt. I 2nd this !!! Not everyone needs a 238 mile range BEV (Bolt). Most of the time you are hauli...
