Re: 195/55r15 up front for over 1k miles. numbers

Hey. Yes. I am saying that I purchased two used front wheels. The rear wheel is the wheel that can't be mounted up front. The front wheel can be mounted on the rear with no trouble at all. So now YES, I have the same exact tire and wheel combo on all 4 corners that can be rotated like so many cars o...

195/55r15 up front for over 1k miles. numbers

Hi everyone. A bit ago I posted a question here if anyone had any numbers on running a 195 up front. Well I went ahead with my project and here are the results. I picked the General Tire RT43 because it is very well rated and there is a 185 profile so if I didn't like the result I could put the stoc...

Re: 21700 based custom battery pack for the Spark EV

I bet those prices come way down once someone actually wants to do it. Hell the retail price of our batteries is over 60% off in some cases online right now (google chevy part # 23348215). It was $12k-$14k and now is down to $4500 which is not all that unreasonable.

Good to know, sorry it cost you some money. Thanks for the post. I will be putting 195/55r15's on the front this week. I have heard that they will fit so here is hoping.

Re: Would a Volt key fob shell work for a 2015 Spark EV?

I got the Volt key fob shell today, and as the seller stated, it was not compatible with my Spark EV. The key blank for the Volt is narrower, so that the key fob body is thinner, and the rubber keypad is not really designed to be removed from the fob body and reinstalled. I'm not too disappointed -...

I decided to take a chance and ordered the Volt key fob earlier today. I'll post again when I get a chance to try it out.
Great. This will be good to know there is additional replacement.

Re: To anyone who has run a 195/55r15 tire up front.

I'm in desperate need of front tires (if hydroplaning were an Olympic sport, I'd have taken gold in the rain the other day). Someone has a set of 185/60/15 Michelin Defenders at a good price on craigslist locally, and being a supreme cheapo, I'll probably take the plunge. Should be interesting, I'l...

Re: Would a Volt key fob shell work for a 2015 Spark EV?

The rubber keypad is worn out on one of my 2015 Spark EV key fobs and I would like to replace it (the keypad or the entire shell). I see that a 5 button fob shell for the Volt is listed on ebay, and it looks identical to the fob for my Spark, complete with the correct EV symbols. I was going to pla...

Re: Where do we all live? Sparks are dispersing.

Living in Texas (where it might get very hot) I would suggest not filling your Spark (to full) every time you plug it in. By now you should have figured out about how many miles of range show on the guess-o-meter when full. So, just figure out 'about' how many miles of range you are comfortable wit...

Re: To anyone who has run a 195/55r15 tire up front.

That's what I run on 0.5" wider (and much lighter) wheels which now allows me to rotate the tires properly. (but I haven't yet). I really didn't notice a big hit in range. Definitely not 10%. I do notice a slightly sportier feel,, but how do you quantify that? Can I ask what offset your wheels are ...
