Re: Battery Degradation vs Battery Limited Warranty

The problem with GM is, they won't give you the number your battery has to hit to qualify for the warranty. Is the calculation for degradation based on a 21kWh battery for a 2016 model? Mine suddenly started dropping this summer, now it's down to 13.5 according to Torque Pro.

Re: Battery Degradation vs Battery Limited Warranty

I have regularly pressed GM to give me a number of battery capacity where the replacement warranty to kick in. So far, no dice. I have a 2016, so I'm not sure of my total capacity. I've been told it was 19kWh, and the warranty said 35% degradation, which would be around 12.5k. Has anybody gotten tha...

Re: About to purchase a 2015....

Don't forget to check GM's certified pre-owned website, though they are fewer every day. You'll get an extended warranty on the battery and two free service calls the first two years. I've really enjoyed my 2016, which is the first EV I've ever owned, and I absolutely love it. The number one thing i...

Re: How long does 12v battery last?

My 12 volt has been given me a few Fault notices through the Torque Pro app. Coincidentally, my wife's ICE car battery died. So I needed a charger anyway. So I made a point to buy a charger with a battery conditioning feature. Mine was about $50 at Walmart. So far so good.

Re: Picking up 1st Spark on Saturday... Despite Pandemic.

Congratulations! I've mostly been very happy with my 2016 Spark with DCFC. My commute makes this car perfect on range and usability. My only concerns have been wonky performance with the app and website. I actually had one experience where I couldn't get my battery status through the website (I don'...

Re: Phone holder ?

This one works great, with one caveat. It comes with a metal disk you need to attach to your phone for best magnetic grip. I didn't care, I bought a cheap Android to only use in the car with Torque Pro, so I didn't care. Works great. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071R1DQBK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_searc...

Re: Help programming RKE transmitter for 2016

I tried it multiple times, multiple ways - never worked for me either. I broke down and went to the dealership. Cost me $40.

Methods to reduce battery degradation?

I’ve had my 2016 Spark EV a little over a year, and I’ve seen a drop in battery capacity of 1KwH. The first few months I varied a lot between Level 1 and 2 charging. In my current job I’m charging entirely Level 1 at home. During the last year I saw my capacity actually go UP for a couple of months....

Re: Random Horn Honks

The honk when the door closes: did you leave your fob in the car? It’s a reminder that you’ve left it.
The honk with your lights: if you pull on the stick, it’s a temporary “flash” to remind others their brights are on, and it honks. If you push the stick, your brights stay on until you pull back.

Re: Potential Buyer questions

APP: Without an OnStar subscription, you have basic functions in the app like remote lock, pre starting, etc. It will not show you current state of charge. If you login into the My Chevrolet website, it will show you SOC and charge history, and you can download it. Unfortunately the charging detail ...
