Re: Trying to decide and wanted some insight from owners. Spark vs 500e?

Great information. Thanks! You confirmed why I did not see any battery heating while remote starting. It was not cold enough. Just to be clear, you say the battery heater will not go on until the battery temperature drops below 36 deg. F (2C). Do I understand that correctly? That is correct 35.6F t...

Re: Trying to decide and wanted some insight from owners. Spark vs 500e?

I looked a Fiat 500e when looking for an EV and decided to go with the Spark EV. The Spark has 4 doors and that was the deal breaker for me. I just commute but I take my son to school every day and for him getting in and out of the backseat just made sense to have 4 doors that way we wouldn't have t...

I'm just getting started with checking battery capacity after 3+ years & it's merely curiosity for me.

I feel pretty confident that GM Engineers designed the packs to handle 100% charge at each 'fill-up' - Time will tell!

Are you measuring with Torque Pro to get your capacity?

Re: Questions and Data tracking

I've found that while charging the car it will keep the battery just warm enough to charge efficiently (2C / 35.6F) but during a remote start it will warm the battery up to a higher temperature (12C / 53.6F) OR when it's close to the end of it's charge cycle to 100%. As far as cooling goes the batte...

Re: Questions and Data tracking

.... The battery was conditioned and was at 57.2F for this reading. .... What does this mean? I understand you can see battery temp in the Torque app. Good catch. That was a carry over from the previous post since it was preconditioned before taking the mileage reading. The temperature from this po...

https://my.chevrolet.com/warranty If you register it will give you the date and mileage of when your warranty is up. Mine will be up at 100,009 miles and in a bit over 4.5 years.

Re: In the market for a Spark, but concerned that it's been discontinued

I think a 5th data point should be time of year Day, Month.

My tracking has shown the numbers go up when it's warm and down when its cold. I'm still not quite a year into ownership which may be the point that gives me the actual decrease in a point that can be compared to a similar time of year.
