Re: 2016 2LT DCFC pre-purchase advice

Thank you. I confirmed it will come with 2 keys. It's a private party sale. What is "goo"? :? We are working out the price right now. What would be a fair price on this, given what you know about these cars? It's got 26K, recent tires, and AGM battery, and one paint scrape on the lower front bumper...

Re: Extremely Low Range Used 2015

Hello! I’ve purchased a used 2015 Spark EV. At best, range has stated 64 miles after driving it off the lot. Now only two months later, it only will charge to 55. I live in rural Northern California and charge daily due to my commute. Vehicle history shows it has only been owned in Monterey, CA are...

Re: 14 months of ownership starting to regret Owning a sparkev

I've had mine 25 months and still charges to 84 or higher, depending on temperature, and am at 24K miles. Replaced the 12 volt battery and wiper blades but that's been it. Amazingly quick and handles pretty well for the suspension it's on. Still fun, a keeper. yeah once you start going to 34k on th...

Re: Brake failure on 2015 Spark. What's the best fix?

I had this issue and met other people who had this issue, one of them multiple times. If you look at the NHTSA reports for the Spark and Spark EV this does happen quite a bit. It happened enough in my Spark with no known cause or resolution according to the dealer so I tried to get GM to buy out my...

Re: "Propulsion Power Is Reduced" + "Service Vehicle Soon," 12V Battery is New

Checked battery again, it now reads 12.45V. Anyway, I called AAA, who replaced the battery 2 months ago. They sent a tech who tells me the previous tech put the wrong battery in. The previous tech put in a 121R-C, which is not an AGM battery. This new tech looked up my 2015 Spark EV in his database...

Re: service battery charging system

As added insurance, I keep a 12-volt Viking Compact Power Pack (Harbor Freight) under the driver's seat in each Spark EV. . DrMorgan : I highly suggest NOT leaving your emergency "jump starter" pack in your car in the summer in the central valley. The heat will not do good things for the life of th...

Re: service battery charging system

Just FYI : I highly recommend getting a smart trickle charger for your 12V accessory battery and charging overnight once a month. Here's a post that (somewhat) discusses the issue (there are others) : https://www.mychevysparkev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4938&start=20#p26886 This is one of the b...

Re: 14 months of ownership starting to regret Owning a sparkev

wow im a douche i let this thread marinate too long. so yes winter range killed a lot of my ev range when driving. i had a bad 12v battery. got a new one and it started to die. I found out on the right brake light drains the car battery to not start the car! (took 2 battery swaps and a sleu of burn...

Re: Battery Degradation vs Battery Limited Warranty

Sounds like a lot of bother and $150 for 'documented'. Why not wait for warmer weather and see how your numbers look then? You have the 8yr - 100k mile period to dik with this... ;) I took an average of my readings per year between 2018 and 2020 and did a line prediction for 2021-2024, and at 2024 ...
