Re: Level 2 charger question

If I buy a new portable level 2 charger can I also use it as a level 1 and plug into a wall socket. I might rent a room at a house and the 1 and 2 both cost the same. I rather buy the 2 and if I buy a house in 4 years I can then install a 240 plug Try Googling "dual voltage ev charger". Check out T...

Re: Electrify America Charging Station Problems

Hey! I've also had this problem with my spark and got stranded in a small town that didn't have any other quick chargers. Had to get a tow to the next town over. The person AT EA support at least gave be a couple free sessions, but acknowledged it was a software issue and quoted from this exact thr...

Re: Torque pro battery capacity guess...

Update. Torque battery capacity is now reading 16.0kwh. Received from Carvana at 15.7. Just goes to show that it is truly just a GUESS. I believe TorquePro only reports what the car calculates and has stored in its memory. In May of 2019, at 18,665 miles on my 2016 Spark EV, TorquePro reported my b...

Re: Bad 12V battery equals disabled car

...Without a working 12V battery your EV will NOT work. This true of all cars, no? ( I guess an old manual ICE with a weak battery can be push started.... ;) ) But having a small Li-ion 'Boost Pack' or whatever they are called, can set you up to be someone's Hero some day !!! But an ICE c...

Re: Replacement Battery Cost

As I said before, probably in this thread,,, When people ask, 'How much for a battery pack replacement'? I say, " When do you replace the battery pack?' Great question and the answer will be different for each one of us EV drivers. For me, today I would say when the full-charge GOM value on my 2014...

Re: Electrify America Charging Station Problems

Try this. These only put out 50kw, so the cables aren't real heavy. https://www.plugshare.com/location/172095 There is also a Kona Electric that had charger problems 6 days earlier. I checked the photos on PlugShare for this site and noticed these are BTCPower chargers (rounded top). That surprised...

Re: Electrify America Charging Station Problems

Funny thing, I checked Plugshare for the EA station at a local Target, tonight and a Bolt owner complained he couldn't get the car to charge, even with help from EA. Where is that Target located? I would like to review the driver's post. I have seen a few other Bolt charging failures too. Many comp...

Re: Replacement Battery Cost

First of all, let’s do the math on a typical Spark EV battery: - 18.4 kw usable (2015-2016) or 19.4 actual. GM takes 5% out to keep the batteries from fully charging or discharging. - 18.4 x 4 mi per kWh = 73.6 mi range (This should be a conservative number) - The LG Chem Cells should be good for 3...

Re: Torque pro and battery capacity

Thanks i did a test on the highway when no regen was generated and i had a 40% of the battery used and it did correspond with the torque pro value. So what's the 65% that the wararnty covers ? (degradation wise) is it calculated at 18.4kw or 21kw, i know i'm not there yet but when should i get read...
