Re: Electrify America Charging Station Problems

The inability to charge at Electrify America stations populated with chargers manufactured by ABB should be a concern to all drivers of a Spark EV having the DCFC option. What can we do? Log onto Electrify America's website, and file a complaint. They want to hear from us, so...…. let's oblige them!...

Re: Electrify America Charging Station Problems

It's ben a month since last I checked and these are still not open. https://www.plugshare.com/location/193079 I hate to burst your bubble but, these are ABB charging stations and, so far, I have not been able to charge my 2016 Spark EV at any ABB charger offered by Electrify America. But.......

Re: battery range and cold weather

If you have a 240V outlet you are charging with you can do a preconditioning cycle (remote start) which lasts 20 minutes until it turns off. This will get your battery temperature up to the optimal temperature (12C.) If you just drive the car cold the car appears to only heat the battery to 2C whic...

Re: battery range and cold weather

I'm in Ohio. Not exactly the sunshine state in winter. It seemed that every time I got into the spark, the range dropped when it gets cold, I'm talking mid 20s to mid 30s here. I rarely use the heater on the way to someplace, and only when I'm on my way back do I turn the heat on. The cabin heater ...

Re: battery range and cold weather

Thanks for the note. I was beginning to think there was something amiss with the battery pack. Since we're not even into winter yet, I glad i still have my ICE autos. From your experience, will I see even more drop in range when we hit the low teens in temperature? And!! Will I get the capacity bac...

Re: battery range and cold weather

Gang, It's been a while since I was on this forum. My 2016 spark works fine. However, I've noticed now that the weather is turning colder, my battery range has really tanked. I purchased this car in june with 9200 miles on it. It's a 2016 by the way. In the summer, I'd see after a full level 2 char...

Re: Electrify America Charging Station Problems

Stopped by the EA charge station here in Raleigh, NC this morning - found a number of the terminals to be down due to card reader issues, 3 would not connect to our 2015 Spark. Tried terminal 1, and it managed to connect & provided full charge. Spoke with EA Customer Service to let them know of ino...

Re: Electrify America Charging Station Problems

I checked out the Target, but I was driving my Volt. The stations were all BTCP. Thanks for checking. As I mentioned, BTCP chargers work great for Spark EVs. There may be some problems with the credit card readers. I signed up for an EA account and use the EA APP on my phone to activate a charging ...

Re: Electrify America Charging Station Problems

Today, I drove my Spark EV 55 miles 1-way to the newly opened Electrify America location in San Ramon, CA. Nice location along one of my routes and IT WORKED!! It worked because they installed BTCP chargers. Thanks EA.
