Re: Buying a used 2014 Spark EV 2LT - bad idea??

For what it's worth, I returned my 2014 Spark EV LT1 last month at the end of the three year lease. It was a great car, and was entirely trouble free except for one early minor issue fixed under warranty. I did not notice any battery degradation at all after 21000 miles and three years. We thought a...

Good bye GhettoTesla

We turned in our leased 2014 Spark EV LT1 nicknamed GhettoTesla today after giving it a last pat on the roof and thanking it for its service. I feel a bit sad, it was a great car for us, but leases are not forever. I hope it finds a happy home. We are consoled somewhat by our new 2016 Spark LT1 DCFC...

Re: Does this happen to you?

My biggest complaint with the car is that it does not seem to respect the "track number" tag on files from a usb stick. So it plays albums with the songs in alphabetical order. Which is total fail for some albums. I've thought of retagging my mp3s with the title being <album>-<track>-<real title> bu...

Re: L vs. D

You will need to visit your dealer to have the software upgraded. Your dealer can find this fix in Recall / Campaign 15582 Unwanted Brake Lamp Activation. If you take your car in, if applicable to your vehicle, have the dealer also perform recall campaign 16007 - Frontal Airbag and Pretensioner Non...

Re: Small suspension tweak - sway-bar links and bushings?

Bryce, if you read this, does the Spark corner on three wheels like a VW? Yes. That's the single biggest challenge with autocrossing this car. When you lift that inside rear, it will stop basically immediately with any brake application (whether it's by your foot or by the stability control). Once ...

Re: Small suspension tweak - sway-bar links and bushings?

I did sway-bar bushings and links on an RX-7, and the difference was noticeable, although that car was much tighter to start than the Spark EV. I'd just like to take the slop out of the sway-bar, to get a bit crisper turn-in, and these are fairly cheap parts and installations, compared to anything ...

Re: Small suspension tweak - sway-bar links and bushings?

I know that there are a couple of members who have done full F & R suspension mods on their EVs, but I'm looking for a more moderate tweak - specifically, tightening up the sway bars using firmer bushings and end-links. I'm hoping that this might help tame the floaty behavior on the highway, and ti...

Re: Just Leased a 2016 Spark EV LT2

Dang, I feel like I got a terrible deal now lol. I bought my 2014 Spark 2 weeks ago used, with 16,500miles for $12k out the door without DCFC charging. I didn't know that all 2014's didn't come with DCFC at the time or what it really was to be honest but if I could've gotten a brand new 2016 for $4...

Re: 20% off MSRP Cash Back Deals

I bought a new 2016 Spark EV 1LT with DCFC last month. The total out the door including tax, iicense, delivery, everything was $21,600. After $7500 federal tax credit and $2500 from CA (once they renew the rebate) this means my out of pocket is $11,600. There are still a couple months to go on the l...

Re: Just Leased a 2016 Spark EV LT2

Just for comparison, I purchased a 2016 1LT with DCFC for $21,600 out the door in June from Boardwalk Chevrolet in Foster City. Net after credits and rebates is only $11,600. I thought about leasing (I did lease my 2014), but I like the car and in three years I'll still need a car and they may not b...
