Re: Advice on buying a used 2015 Spark Ev

Had to turn in the Red 2LT on 21 July as the residual on the lease was over $14k @ 31k miles. (+ no DCFC) Wife & I had decided on a White 2LT to replace the departed Red Spark. We had stopped by our local EV-only dealer (Greg Platt @ Platt Auto Group) in mid-July to tell him what we were after and w...

Re: What is being offered at end of lease?

The lease for my 2015 Spark EV is through GM Financial and I recently received an end-of-lease instruction packet in the mail. My plan is to have the car inspected early next month and turned in to American Chevrolet in Modesto, CA in mid May. What was in the package from GM Financial? Did they hav...

Re: Spark is at the auto body shop and I’m having withdrawal

I finally got going on repairing my daughter's "4X4 incident" damage. I followed a YouTube video on removing the bumper cover. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01nhzvPlVyo After removing all the screws as described in the video, it was still attached to something at the bottom that I couldn't see. I ...

Re: Remove Bowtie Logo

I finally got going on repairing my daughter's "pick-up incident" damage. Turns out that in addition to the adhesive pads, the bowtie is clipped into the bumper cover and secured by two screws. Here's a back side view.

Re: Original Ecopia 195 tires no longer available?

We went to the local Discount Tire location ( https://www.discounttire.com/ ) and they could still get the original EP150 tires. They quoted us ~$250 installed & out the door. We went with the Bridgestone EP422Plus. They were less expensive (~$230 OTD), had more tread, a better traction rating, spee...

Re: What is being offered at end of lease?

I'll try again and probably try to get the leasing department directly and see what they can offer me. How far out are you from your return date? I am hopeful they'll get more interested in an offer as they get closer to the lease expiration date. According to KBB, these things are valued below $7,...

Re: Spark is at the auto body shop and I’m having withdrawal

Echhh! That does not sound like fun. Daughter #3 rear ended a lifted 4x4 "just a little" - bumper cover puncture, dented hood, scraped bumper inserts (silver grill bits & bowtie). It didn't look TOO bad & appears there was no structural damage underneath - I ordered a hood & bumper cover from Rock A...

Re: What is being offered at end of lease?

The thing that's really confusing about all this charging rate BS is why it's on the " What is being offered at end of lease? " thread. Your comments should be moved to a " Charging Rates " thread under the " Batteries & Charging " section. Has anybody purchased their leased car from GM Financial? W...

Re: Parts shared with regular Spark

This topic has assumed a new level of importance for me - Daughter 3 rear-ended someone in a large truck and now I need to replace some front end pieces. The car is a lease so I'm paying for this one way or another - buying the vehicle or repairing before turning it in. I have NO confidence that I'l...

Re: No deal

I tried to get a quote to purchase my Spark Walt from the bank as the lease is up in Dec. They told me that they were not excepting bids on this car at this time. WTF? While it's true that leasing is a form of renting, most leasing companies sell returned cars at auction or to the "leasing dealersh...
