Re: Battery Degradation vs Battery Limited Warranty

The 2014 is "around" 21 kWh. The 2015 and 16 had a different battery supplier than the '14s, and are "around" 18.5 kWh.

65% of 21 is 13.65 (2014)

65% of 18.5 is 12.025 (2015)

60% of 18.5 is 11.1 (2016)

Re: Battery Degradation vs Battery Limited Warranty

After having by wife total my first Spark EV (White 2014, no DCFC) and my son totalling my second Spark EV (Red 2015, DCFC) I traveled 700 miles to Fresno to buy a 2014 with 5900 miles on it hoping everything would be fresh. My first two days are showing about 11.5 KWH on what was a 21 KWH battery ...

Re: Questions and Data tracking

Still waiting for an EV with ground clearance that can handle rough unpaved Forest Service roads. There was an all-electric Toyota RAV4 EV several years ago (with Tesla motor / batteries) - you might be able to find one used (~ 100 mile range, i think). I think it was only sold in Calif. There is (...

Re: Electrify America Charging Station Problems

I looked and I can go to northern Mi ! Traverse City, Mi. The EV Highway is much more complete than I ever imagined! I can highly recommend Traverse City, Mi ! :D Even better is a tiny bit further north, up route 22 to Suttons Bay or Omena. Beautiful country, lots of orchards, vineyards, dairies , ...

Re: Electrify America Charging Station Problems

Same user, different post ... : The rest of my EA experiences on my 2400 mile road trip (10 EA total) were ok, once I realized how you MUST start the chargers (any deviation from this exactly would fail for me until I learned the process) SIGN UP for a membership. Pay the $4/mo. In my case it was wa...

Re: Electrify America Charging Station Problems

OK, I just read this elsewhere (another site) : All the charges were pretty much uneventful, once I learned how to properly work EA chargers: plug in first, wait for CC screen to show on charger (about 20 seconds, after "initializing" box shows), THEN swipe in the app (I got the $4 membership). Any ...

Re: Electrify America Charging Station Problems

Oh, and there is (are) a device(s) that will 'morph' a Tesla L2 ("destination charger") into a J-1772 plug, useful at hotels. They are sort of expensive, but if you use it ONCE to avoid a tow on your trip, you have come out ahead. One is : https://shop.quickchargepower.com/JDapter-Stub-40-Amp-Tesla-...

Re: Electrify America Charging Station Problems

Oh, I may have already typed this, but i should insist and underline : download every app to your smartphone for the networks you might use (EVgo, EA, ChargePoint, ...) . They will show you realtime status (hopefully), allow you to find chargers and initiate a charge from the app, and some (ChargePo...

Re: Electrify America Charging Station Problems

Not sure how familiar you are with plugshare. Quick and dirty overview. 1) go to www.plugshare.com 2) search for a city / town. It looks like a google map, sort of. There's a " + / - " to zoom the map in / out. If you "hover" your mouse over a button / item, it generally tells you what it does. 3) O...
