Re: Advice on buying a used 2015 Spark Ev

I bought a 2014 spark with 52k miles, at that time I estimated the usable capacity to be 16 kWh
I now have 62k miles and the estimated capacity is down to 15 kWh.
I plot it every month and it is a steady decline.

Re: Changing digital readout from Centigrade to Fahrenheit

I'm a big fan of the silent acceleration that does not attract attention, and in the same spirit of not attracting attention, would prefer the same advantage for deceleration. Being discreet during acceleration is understandable and harmless. But I fail to see any benefit in not attracting attentio...

Re: Advice on buying a 2015 Spark

I agree, the cheapest the better :)

I paid $7,800 out of the door for a 2014 with 50k miles and could not be happier...

Re: Advice on buying a used 2015 Spark Ev

Apart from regular inspection of the car condition, you can get a rough estimate of the current battery usable capacity by driving the car until it has more than 50% of the battery used, then taking note of the Battery percentage used and kWh used in the energy screen (press the leaf button on the d...

Roof rack to spare?

Does anyone have roof rack (bars) for the Spark EV they would like to sell?

I could use a pair, but really don't want to put $400 in that...

Thanks

Re: Spark does not start this morning

The battery would not charge, so it was clearly dead.

Went ahead and replaced it, car is working fine, and the error is gone.

I assume if the charging system was actually defective, the error would still be there, unless the error is purely based on the actual charge of the 12 volt battery.

Re: Spark does not start this morning

OK, so the 12 volt battery was discharged (explains the weird behavior). Now on to figuring out if the battery has gone bad, or if the 12 V charging system is bad (or both)

Charging the battery to see if it holds the charge and if the car starts with it charged...

Spark does not start this morning

OK, SO bad day for a dead car... I start the spark this morning fully charged, but when I shift to move nothing happens. Try to turn it off, and it keeps reinitializing and restarting. I eventually can get it to shutdown by powering off a second time The service light soon (car with exclamation mark...

Re: New-to-me 2015 Spark EV owner questions

First read whole thread below that will answer most of your questions. http://www.mychevysparkev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4994 Once you did that, 4.5 miles per kWh and 73 miles range corresponds to a battery capacity of 73/4.5 = 16.2 kWh; 4.2 miles and 73 range to 17.3 kWh. I live in North Cali...
