Re: Changing digital readout from Centigrade to Fahrenheit

" Tactical Disadvantage " ? Which game or competition are you talking about? :?: When on a commute we're all in it together. There are no winners or losers. Brake lights/decel lights = equal the exact same thing. The idea is to make the world of commuting a safer place for all,,,, not ...

Re: Changing digital readout from Centigrade to Fahrenheit

[quote="jjl"I also noticed that, when driving in L at night, it took about 1.5 seconds for the brake lights to come on after I removed my foot from the accelerator pedal. This is way too long if you are traveling at freeway speeds. This was corrected through BULLETIN 15582, RECALL CAMPAIGN S1024837...

Re: First (and only) Failure @ 54k miles.

I'm generally an optimist, so maybe it is a firmware tweak that really does allow us to use more of the battery before it hits no-go zero. Or it may raise the usable ceiling of what a full charge really can accept. Or better yet, both! Perhaps a 10% buffer was engineered in on both ends, and it has ...

Re: Putting Bowie, TX on the EV (PlugShare) Map

In hindsight, elevation matters, and may explain why my return trip was more efficient. The trip involved a cumulative 525' climb going up from Arlington to Bowie, same cumulative 525' descent back down from Bowie to Arlington. Arlington, TX elevation = 604' Bowie, TX elevation = 1,129' Wichita Fall...

Putting Bowie, TX on the EV (PlugShare) Map

While having a 2006 Ford E150 van at my disposal, I opted to be an EV pioneer and took my 2015 Chevy Spark EV for a 128 mile (one way, 256 mile round trip) journey on the weekend of July 21-22, 2018. Not just under normal circumstances, but in record 112 degree July 2018 Texas heat! Trip to WF route...

Re: Best modifications to stay cool in the summer?

I should add that I'm somewhat a disciple of NORTON and don't exactly go easy on the accelerator. I do tend to honor speed limits, but I really enjoy getting to the speed limit as quickly as possible without tire smoke or squeal. (Stealth speed!) If I could actually stand to drive 35mph for 3 hours ...

Re: Best modifications to stay cool in the summer?

Don't do anything. Plan for winter cold. I'm in Texas, and the first week of July was one of those 100+ heat waves. I bought my 2015 in September 2017, so I've experienced winter and am now taking on my first summer. I'm still fine with my black paint and no window tint. While Texas winters are mild...

Re: Spark does not start this morning

Per SparkE’s suggestion and MrDRMorgan's recommendation, I have decided to join the BatteryMINDer model 2012-AGM-OBD2 club.

Re: 60KW charging possible on Spark ?

I suppose I should add that I have never noticed another EV waiting on me to finish DCFC charging. I'm usually there and gone in 10 minutes or less, charging to 80% or less. My EVgo bills are quite easy to handle. Usually less than $3 per charge, and less than $50 per month. I just wish there were m...

Re: 60KW charging possible on Spark ?

I think it's great too! There's no reason to compare the Spark's assets with any other car's assets - they are wonderful all by themselves. And there's certainly no reason to exaggerate stuff, and twist reality! Actually, comparing such features is something I consider before making a purchase. Whe...
