Re: Trailer hitch with lighting cable installed for 350$ can

Warranty concerns duly noted, adding a trailer hitch does interest me. Once the warranty expires, it will be an even more attractive modification. I expect to hit 100k before I hit 8 years. Historically, I have driven about 20k miles per year. With the low cost of operating the Spark EV, I find myse...

Re: Front tire life... how long did yours last?

You may be the most fun loving owner so far !!!! Enjoy! Tires are cheap! I'm somewhat a disciple of NORTON when it comes to fun vs. range. I have come to appreciate the various comments about wheelspin being more easy to come by in the 30-50mph range than the 0-30mph range. Weird, but I'll take it....

Re: 2015 Chevy Spark EV specifications

Also remember light colors stay cooler, giving better range since you can keep the AC off. Of course where you're from, I fear it's all moot. I don't see GM expanding sales past the west coast any time soon :( . Buy black! Even if you live in Texas! The Spark EV A/C is pretty efficient, the heater ...

Re: Adding to battery

The car that got me to looking at EV's in the first place was the Tesla Roadster. While expensive and to address a rather small market, Tesla has made available a replacement battery with better capacity that stores roughly 40% more energy than the original battery. After a few years of lusting afte...

Re: How far away is the nearest level 3 charger to you?

So I've made a couple more token stops at DFW area level 3 chargers to add ~10 "anxiety prevention" miles. I probably could have done without both of these (and got home with single digit range left), but now that I've upped my EVgo plan to On-The-Go, why not get some value out of my $20/month plan ...

Re: How far away is the nearest level 3 charger to you?

My Level 3 DCFC charging experience in the DFW area is improving. Since I switched from the EVgo Flex plan to the EVgo On-The-Go plan, one nice feature is that they email me some useful billing related info. On November 2 I expected to have my first day of 100+ mile demands on my 2015 Spark EV with ...

Re: How far away is the nearest level 3 charger to you?

...How the total cost for my test charge worked out to be $8.59 is a mystery to me, it's not a multiple of $4.95 + minutes * $0.20. Probably some added tax or fee. ChargePoint is also an option for this location, L3 charging would have been a $9.95 flat fee. Perhaps a better choice if I normally pr...

Re: How far away is the nearest level 3 charger to you?

...Signing up for the EVgo Flex plan cost $5.35. The L3 charge cost $8.59, I seem to recall starting with 24 miles showing and ending with 68 miles showing. .... How does this 'plan' work? Is that'cost' a flat rate per session? No matter how many kWh's or time spent plugged in? Why did it end when ...

Re: How far away is the nearest level 3 charger to you?

3.2 miles. Only used it once so far. Signing up for the EVgo Flex plan cost $5.35. The L3 charge cost $8.59, I seem to recall starting with 24 miles showing and ending with 68 miles showing. Got me where I wanted to go when I wanted to go there, about a 50 mile round trip leaving me 18 miles to spar...

Re: Where do we all live? Sparks are dispersing.

Charles here in Arlington, TX. Black 2015 Spark EV LT2 with DCFC. Drove to OKC to buy it used with 19k miles for $8600. Dealer disclosed it was a "lemon law" buyback before I made the trip. Claimed the issue ultimately was a "loose wire". I took my chances. So far, so good. Towed it home with a For...
