Re: Electrify America Charging Station Problems

I ran across this on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lAFLpxcgk4 Yep! This is EXACTLY how you make it work. Also, some of the power cables do not allow you to "easily" align the plug with the socket in the car without some serious "twisting" too. How and where you park your Spark EV when m...

Re: Electrify America Charging Station Problems

Has anyone tried one of these at an EA station? I have printed one and can confirm it fits the spark, but have no EA station nearby. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3862271 This adapter would be interesting to try on a Spark EV. I am able to charge my 2016 Spark EV at EA 150 kw stations but it is...

Re: Electrify America Charging Station Problems

EA still hasn't gotten ahold of me to do any testing. I tried to charge again today, but still no luck. I hope the fact that I'm slowly tanking their Plugshare rating gets their attention. Note: BLAIR - You said you follow this website as part of your responsibility in Customer Service for Electrif...

Re: Methods to reduce battery degradation?

I think if the battery is warm it can charge to a higher capacity which is why we see increases in very warm weather. If you want to track it we can all compare. Like MrDRMorgan said "It is what it is" and I'm not sure you can really get it to make a measurable increase through different charging t...

Re: Methods to reduce battery degradation?

I’ve had my 2016 Spark EV a little over a year, and I’ve seen a drop in battery capacity of 1KwH. The first few months I varied a lot between Level 1 and 2 charging. In my current job I’m charging entirely Level 1 at home. During the last year I saw my capacity actually go UP for a couple of months...

Re: help finding out what my dash notification means

hmm its got almost 26,000 miles on it im wondering what kind of service it needs?. You can go to the dealer or get someone who has an OBD2 scanner to read the code for you. That will give you an idea of where the problem might be. Give the code number to the Chevy service representative and ask him...

Re: Throwing out 3 quick questions

Hi, we have only had our spark for a month and I have a few questions I was hoping the group could help me with: 1- In a scenario where the battery is charged up to 70% and has stopped charging (as per the schedule) at home but still plugged in ....will the cabin pre-heating function draw power fro...

Re: Spark EV Battery-Control Unit

It sure sounds like the "Battery-Control Unit" is part of the "battery" system, and should be covered by the warranty. Personally, I would contact GM and NOT ask *if* it is covered, but how you need to proceed to make sure there are no hickups in getting a warranty replacement. Make sure the dealer...
