If your charge port looks like this, you have the DCFC option : http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2013/04/16/automobiles/wheels/charging/charging-blog480.jpg If your charge port looks like this, you do not have the fast charge option: http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/201...
Wow, are we really still having the charging standard discussion? At this point, the topic is almost moot. Most new installations are dual standard, and there is now a continuous CCS/Chademo (actually a bit better for CSS in Nor Cal.) network from practically the Canadian boarder to the Mexican boar...
I would call ahead and ask if the campground has standard wall outlets. Most RV parks I've used on the west coast have the standard outlet. If this is the case, and you still plan to charge using Lvl 1, you needn't worry about an adapter.
I have seen relatively little about sport mode. Can anyone explain what it does (either technically, or practically), how it affects range, if/when they use it, etc? Its affect on vehicle behavior is almost negligible. It changes the accelerator pedal response curve ever so slightly, such that the ...
I've been anxiously awaiting news on the I5 corridor fast chargers as well. Rumblings in certain circles indicate that ground is supposed to be broken on basically the entire committed I5 corridor chargers from Portland south with the BMW/VW/Chargepoint deal by the end of the year. Even if it takes...
Totally misplaced enthusiasm, if you ask me! Until you can take the I5 from LA to SF via CCS chargers, there is no "electric highway". A few chargers along Hwy101 is not nearly sufficient. I too watch PlugShare for new chargers, and have been disappointed for a long time that LA and SF are not link...
As many of you, I observe plugshare SAE combo listing like a hawk. It looks like in the very near future, we will be able to take our Sparks almost exclusively from the Mexican boarder to the Oregon boarder on DC fast chargers. With the opening of the Redding combo charger: http://www.krcrtv.com/new...
The station in Arlington is a curious location. It's a long way from the closest CCS. It's a great location for those with Chademo (Leaf) headed east or an i3 REX headed east out of Portland. We've got great charger coverage along I-5 and the coast, but East is still pretty barren. When the Chademo...
