Re: Help me decide!

So me and my Spark EV have been in Edmonton, AB since January. I have put Michelin Ice X-3 tires on all four wheels. The traction is superb, and despite a couple of close calls on black ice, I feel very safe in them. Really, the traction control does most of the work, but the winter tires are defini...

Re: What range do you show?

The funnest thing to do is drive up a huge mountain, charge on top, then cruise down:

Re: Two Spark Charging

It would be quite expensive, and I'm not sure if you could mount non-clipper creek EVSE's to it, but here is a pedestal for mounting two EVSE's at once: http://www.clippercreek.com/store/product/dual-mount-pedestal-kit/ You could try to sell the Bosch and apply that money towards the pedestal, then ...

Re: Dealer discourages me from DCFC !

...something dramatic with the Bolt, besides DCFC, like supporting up to 75 amp/16-18kw... Many existing homes can't support that. I don't think it would be for home, but for high power level two stations on commercial property. The Canadian Sun Country now makes 100amp level two chargers: http://s...

Re: New guy, many questions. Reliability??

Hi Danger HV: MY Spark has about 18000 miles, and I've had it for about a year and a half. I've only had one strange problem where the connecter to the negative lead of the 12volt battery was faulty, preventing the car from turning on. Once that was replaced, I've never had any major issues. I moved...

Re: Spousal obstacle

Honestly, getting the Volt is a pretty good compromise. The 0-30mph acceleration is actually slightly better than the Spark so it feels a bit quicker in the city. In the end, you'd make the wife happy, you'd still be driving an EV, and used prices on older models of the volt are quite good right now.

Re: Charging 2015 Spark EV with an extension cord

I would be wary of charging with an extension cord. I think the power draw ends up being substantially greater with this setup, and you're more likely to trip a breaker. I also fried a powerstrip using this method once.

Re: Co-worker Ratting on EV charging

Perhaps you can talk to maintenance and have a dedicated EV parking stall with outlets, or possibly even have a level 2 EVSE installed. Your company would be ahead of the game if they did this.
