Re: Post-charging fan problem?

Technically, it turned on the TMS, which is: AC compressor, coolant pump and the fans. And in the winter TMS is: Coolant heater, coolant pump. Technically, a Spark EV does not 'cool itself' when not plugged in, afaik. Your car sounds weird... Good luck. I think - needs a bit more testing to be sure...

Re: How to play music files in car

I shouldn't have to remember anything in what is essentially a smart phone with wheels. I can't remember to reset the charging mode. I set off the alarm in my house almost every day when I get home (always remember to arm, never remember to disarm). I have more important things to remember than whet...

Re: Post-charging fan problem?

But that's what I'm saying - that non-notification isn't good. Something isn't working right if the notification isn't happening when the battery is actually topped off and instead only happens when the car is started. I'm not sure that the notification indicates anything other than the link betwee...

Re: How to play music files in car

I put all my songs on a USB drive and plugged it. That way I don't have t mess with the phone at all. Downsides:

Car's built in randomizer for shuffle sucks
Songs continue to play when in different modes (like using the phone) so you are not always on the same song when you go back to USB input.

Re: Future battery replacement

I am not counting on companies that will be able to produce aftermarket batteries, but I wouldn't be surprised at all. A small market won't necessarily be a problem either. 8-10 years is a very long time in technology. A well built pack will not need any hacking of the software, even if it is bigger...

Re: Hood replacement

Not much. The hood is so small that I doubt you'd save much weight (which is where the savings would come from). On a cavelike, the weight savings is only 25 pounds, and that hood is much bigger.

Re: Brake Lamp Replacements

It would be better to use red LEDs as the lens would absorb most of the light wavelengths being emitted if you went with white LEDs. It doesn't matter as much with incandescent bulbs because their lumen output is generally higher and makes up for the light absorption.

Re: Possible to hack the Spark EV?

It is technically possible to hack any software. That being said, it may very well be illegal to do so to a modern car without permission from or a tool supplied by the manufacturer (at least in the US). John Deere has been using the DMCA to prevent non-authorized repair of their tractors for quite ...

Re: One-touch Up / Down window controls

For me, it mostly has to do with most auto window buttons are timing based, not pressure based. If I only want the window to open a half-inch or so, that is within the short button press that activates the auto function. If I forget to double tap, then I am having to partially roll back up and watch...

Re: One-touch Up / Down window controls

Funny, I always look for a way to disable it on cars I have with it. More often than not, I only want to open my window a crack. In one touch cars, that usually means fighting with the window controls. To each their own. If the ICE Sparks from the same year have it, I would think it could fit in the...
