Global DJ: 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV Debuts TuneIn Radio at 2013 CES
The small 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV is showing off the latest addition to its MyLink infotainment system at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. TuneIn radio opens up a new world of audio streaming, enabling customers to tap into a multitude of radio stations overseas.
By downloading the free smartphone app compatible with MyLink, a global network of 70,000 radio stations becomes available. This means that customers in the U.S. can listen to radio stations playing in Europe or anywhere else in the world by searching by location, genre, or sports team name.
TuneIn is just one of three smartphone app-based features available later this year for Sonics and Sparks with MyLink. The others include BringGo, a paid app which turns the touch screen into a navigation system when a smartphone is plugged in via USB or Bluetooth. The app allows those inside the car to see live traffic reports in certain areas and store native maps on the smartphone, making it possible for the system to provide directions even when phone signal quality is poor, Chevrolet says. Siri, the personal assistant for iPhone, will also be available with an Eyes Free mode that refrains from providing answers to questions that require showing a Web page.
