The Royal Farms gas stations have been adding L3 DCFC (CHAdeMO & SAE combo charger). Since I can't attach pics you'll have to use your imagination. I'm taking advantage of the free charging for the first few weeks and all I can say is wow. Plug in, tap the ChargePoint card, and boom you're at 45kW charging rate through 80%, and then slowly it'll reduce the power level until it's almost done and at a trickle. I typically plug in, walk over to the Royal Farms, get their fried chicken & a drink, and by the time I'm done the charging is done

Welcome to the future of EV driving. Do they say if your network of chargers will be free for a limited time?
Mine may stop the 'Free' in 2 years, but I have heard that may change for the better! It's over 1000 L2's and 13 DCFC's in the metro area.

I haven't spent a dime on my Spark EV since I bought it. Almost 8k miles!
I know I'll need to plug in at home once the really cold weather gets here for the battery's TMS.

This is the equivalent of $267 if I plugged in only at home and figure $0.12.5/kWh.

Why, yes it is!

More coming online too...

New one at a Royal Farms near Philly (24kW): http://api.plugshare.com/view/location/77809

New one at a Sheraton near College Park (24kW): http://api.plugshare.com/view/location/66549

These are both on VW/BMW's expanding east coast charging network.

I believe these are considered "express locations" which the locations take ownership of. VW/BMW will be installing larger "full" locations between these, with 2 (50kW) units and 1 or 2 level 2 units. There may be one of these larger locations going in near White Marsh (rumor).

Also, NRG will be upgrading and installing a few locations as well. First one in Hagerstown: http://api.plugshare.com/view/location/62526
They will be doing 1 a week as weather permits.

My friend Lanny is usually up on all of these developments. He often goes out to these locations to check them out. Follow his twitter or site: http://pluginsites.org/
