Not a traction battery question I know...I received two keys with my used Spark EV. One was flagged by the car as having a low battery. I replaced them both with standard batteries and then both indicated low battery. Thinking I could have gotten a bad batch I returned to the store and purchased the same part number in a lithium battery. Now no issues with either one. Would be inconvenient to have that die away from home!

AFAIK all small cells like that are lithium (2032).

Maybe just a bad out of stock situation. They are supposed to have a long shelf life.

Time to RTFM on what to do if the key fob battery dies. There is a procedure.

Now that I think of it, I believe you are correct. The second pack had “lithium” prominently marked and I didn’t stop to think. I was hoping for the “bad batch” answer. I had the thing for a few days and was worried the remote was compromised.

I just bought a set of CR2032's from Ikea for $3 (10 pack so $0.30 each). Been working great for the past 2 months.
