I am new to the forum. I recently purchased a 2016 Spark EV and I love it, except for the range. I was expecting an 82ish mile range, but since I live in Phoenix AZ, I use the AC constantly, which brings my range down to about 65.

I’m certain that someone has already thought to do this, but things are always changing and I might bring some insight to others about helping this dilemma.

I purchased a Chevy volt battery a few years back that I’ve been using as a house battery. Basically an oversized Powerwall. I’ve been toying with the idea to add it to the Sparks battery to extend the range. Either by towing a small trailer, or adding it to the vehicle. I understand it’s about 420 lbs, but I still think it’s doable.

I would think that (so long as the voltage is similar and number of cells between packs are same or similar, that you could just attach a cable to the positive and negative terminals on the current battery, and in essence, extend the range.

Is this doable or just a pipe dream? Does the software not allow for this?

Thanks guys!
