Bike rack for Sparky EV

does anyone have a good bike rack solution?

I only know of 4 ways to transport a bike. Roof rack, tow hitch mounted, tailgate/trunk mounted, or inside the vehicle. At this point I think the tailgate mounted bike rack is going to be your only option.

I've actually been really curious if the roof rails can be reinstalled. I live in a beach town and every surfer needs a roof rack. I hate those roof racks for sedans that strap into the door frame. I know it will hurt the aerodynamics, but for a local only driver it doesn't matter nearly as much.

I bought a Saris Bones2 and it works fine. A word of warning though that the clips (all six) and the feet will damage the paint pretty quickly by grinding dirt into the surface. I put a strip of "helicopter tape" along the bumper top surface and where the clips go. Works good so far.

Also, I wouldn't be comfortable putting a heavy mountain bike on the outer end of the bike rack. The torque this creates starts to feel like it's deforming the hatch and bumper. One bike on the inner mount is great.

Since I ride a bike every day I have a reciever hitch on all of my cars. I don't like the idea of a strap on scratching paint or the drag of a roof rack. With the reciever hitch you have a ton of rack choices and they are easy to load at knee level.

My 2 bike rack is about as easy as it gets to load and very little contact with the bike and no movement at all.
