 Post subject: CCS charger in Arlington Oregon: offline, campaign

The CCS station in Arlington, Oregon, has been offline since August 2015. Based on comments on PlugShare, this appears to be due to a policy decision by the power company to assess demand charges, rendering the station economically unviable.

Nov 8th 2015 I check (sic) with the station owner and unfortunately there’s no change. It turns out that the issue is the local electric utility there. They are assessing demand changes (sic) on the station that make it so expensive to operate that the owner had to shut it off. This is pretty unusual in my experience because usually utilities are supportive of EV charging because its (sic) moving customers from gas stations to the utility. The owner says he’s trying to work with the utility to get this resolved but didn’t have an estimate on when the station would be turned on again. Regards, Dexter Turner OpConnect.
