The last couple weeks the motor in my 2014 has been chattering when throttle is just off idle. It feels like the computer is rapidly jumping back and forth from drive to regen when output is near zero. Doesn’t occur all the time and selecting neutral kicks it out and rolling returns to smooth. I am an early production number and have not yet replaced my 12v battery so I’ll give that a try first.

Let us know how changing the 12V battery helps (or doesn't)

I would think this is covered under powertrain warranty, isn't it? Have you checked warranty with your local dealer yet?

I doubt anything with the 12V bus would make 'chattering' in the gear train. But maybe. Once the car is powered up the APM should be supplying all the 12V power.

If it was a gear lash noise I'd immediately change the ATF in the drive unit and have an oil analysis done,,, just to make sure there is no mechanical gear wear going on....

Maybe a hard reboot, where you disconnect the 12V battery for a minute?

Keep us informed !
