Okay I know it seems ludicrous but hear me out. Wpuld it be possible to put the drivetrain and other creature comforts into a Pontiac Fiero? The base hp is similar to what the Fiero had to start with and one could make their own cells from Tesla ones so it might be possible to up the battery pack capacity. Any thoughts?

Sounds like a good car to electrify !
The drive unit swap would be very straight forward!
The AC condenser, drive unit oil, inverter and battery heat exchangers would be not too be of a deal.

The battery pack will take a lot of work and macgvering.

A HV battery pack needs to be more than a bunch of cells in a series.
There needs to be a BMS and TMS system for the pack.

Possibly the Spark EV pack could be separated into three sections with new cables.
It's the TMS that would be difficult. The '14 TMS is a tray that the cells sit on, (compared to inter-cell cooling plates), and that could be made into sections.

Using the dimensions for a 5kw Tesla module it appears at least 6 would fit in the frunk, it may be possible to use a BMS from Ev West as they have a ton of xp with Tesla modules.
