Spark EV production discontinued after 2019

What on earth was Chevrolet thinking in discontinuing the production if the Spark EV after 2019? I absolutely love my 2015. It is the perfect car for me.
I have owned it for a year, and I love everything about it. I would definitely buy another one.

They discontinued them in 2016 (Your subject may have been a typo?) when the Bolt EV hit the market. The Spark EV was a compliance car and Chevy was forced to make it available for sale in Oregon and California, I believe it was also available in Maryland where the motor was made.

I love my car for economic reasons and because it is fun to drive but the Bolt is a more refined product with features more in line with the Volt and includes a larger battery to reduce range anxiety. It would be nice if Chevy made a car in the price point of the Spark EV but it costs twice what a spark does and it's of similar quality. Most people I think would want a larger safer car with a good crash rating.

was discontinued in 2016. it was and is a Compliance car. Gen 2 volt and the bolt premiered pretty much ousting this car from ev existence.

It would be nice if Chevy made a car in the price point of the Spark EV but {the Bolt} costs twice what a spark does and it's of similar quality.

Actually, with all the special price reductions being handed out by GM, I have heard of people getting "Premium" (high end model) Bolts for around $32-35K (before fed tax credit). That is just a bit more ($4-7k) more than the MSRP of the Spark back in 2016 ($28K). Of course, that's still 4 times what I paid for my used Spark EV last year ...

I would like to see Chevy provide something equivalent to the Bolt, but with a smaller battery (maybe 30-35 kWh) at the MSRP of the Spark EV (around $28K). Heck, it could be the Bolt, just with a smaller battery. I don't need a 250-mile range car and I don't want to haul around the extra weight or pay for the (expensive) batteries that I don't need. 140 miles would work just fine for me about 95% of the time. I am only putting about 3500 miles annually on my gasmobile as it is, with 140 miles of range that would probably drop to about 1500, all of them highway miles (at 38 mpg) for longer trips.
