Level 3 value

Fri Jul 10, 2020 8:56 am

Why is it when u check kbb for value of spark they don't have the level 3 as a option. It's a major option. It should raise value of the car.
Also since the 2016 I'm buying has the level 3 what is the best website to check for these. I'm not used to having it

What are you referring to? Finding dc fast charge stations or identifying vehicles that are equipped with "fast charging provisions?" Regardless, plugshare and it's complicated. https://www.mychevysparkev.com/forum/vi ... php?t=4786

I've said level 3 a lot as well, so don't feel bad, but the term "doesn't exist." There is AC Level 1 and 2 & DC Level 1 & 2.

Do you really want to 'raise the value' of used cars you are looking for?

Here's my take: Used car salesmen don't know diddly. And you don't want to teach them.

My tactic, back when I was shopping for mine long ago, was to discretely ask for a picture of the car's charge door open.
I had one guy txt me a link to a google search of charge doors open.
I had to tell him, "Buddy, send a pic of the actual car we are talking about."

It takes a little more time to do it that way, but,,,
Do you really want to say,

"Hey Slick, the DCFC was a $750 optional extra.
It has a little orange plastic cover that is fabulous!
I really want that!
I'm really interested in a car with that option!!".

No, you do not want to give those dogs any scraps. :x
'14 Spark EV 2LT w/ DCFC. 91k miles.
'17 Bolt Premier w/ It All! 59k miles.
GM needs Modern Troubleshooting tools for Modern EV's.
3 step Trouble Tree, 1st try, nope, 2nd try / cost $800. 3rd try fixed it.

Carvana lists fast charging in their ads and usually adds a photo of the port.

Norton u misunderstood. I'm talking when ur checking the private party value on kbb. It doesn't give u the option to check fast charger. It is valuing them equally. I guess when u sell the car u can tell buyer ur adding 500 for the fast charger compared to one without it.

The 2016 I just bought didn't list it on the features page. I had to chat with a gm specialist and give her the vin. She told me it had fast provisions. I was very happy since there is one free DC fast charger in the city. I think going forward a spark with a fast charger will be much more valuable since they have many more level 3 compared to 3 years ago when I originally bought.
