I have this all the time. I believe it’s due to my enclosed garage getting heated up and then it’s hot and the fan stays on to cool it down but there’s no way to cool it down, so it keeps pulling juice and running the fan and being hot and it’s a vicious cycle. That’s what
I think. I’ve had my 2015 to the dealer numerous times and they’ve finally said nope everything is fine and GM says there doesn’t seem to be a problem.

So they won’t look at it for that problem anymore. They can’t duplicate my garage, they can’t duplicate the problem, so there is no problem.

So my solution is to set it to charge for departure. At least then if I don’t leave right away it’s not on for many many hours straight.
In the winter, this isn’t a problem at all.
But, in the winter it never fails that I’ll randomly get the “check engine” light. The car seems fine, runs fine, charges fine, just has that error light on the DIC. And it’s been to the dealer several times for that, and also been told they can’t find what’s wrong. They see in the log that the computer triggered the light to turn on, but they can’t find WHY it said to turn on the light. The last couple of times I took it in for that, they checked the codes and saw they were the same codes and said ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . Now all they’ll do is clear the code. The last time I had the error, it cleared on its own, so I didn’t even take it in.
So, yeah, loads of fun.
