I have a 2014, is mirrorlink like android auto/carplay or what reason would I have to attempt to understand exactly how to do this if I'm not seeing any issues, except this bluetooth lag.

It appears that for 2015 and 2016 vehicles it is now 16.40-42475606. I do not think it matters what trim level or if you have DC fast charging or not.

If you enter your VIN number on tis2web.service.gm.com under A11 radio, USB file transfer, UF7, 1CZ48, you will see the software version for the USB memory stick which is uploaded to the radio. Either 42475606 for 2015 and 2016, or 95281509 for 2014.

The software update process is to install the update from a USB memory stick, then update the "calibrations" afterward. I was able to update my vehicle myself, but I had to purchase a scantool (VXDIAG VCX NANO for GDS2) and I had to purchase a 2-day subscription to http://www.acdelcotds.com to access the updates. I did this because the car dealer was unable to do this for some reason and my car is out of warranty. It did take me a while to figure all this out, and it is kind of a difficult and buggy process.

One thing I learned is if you get an "invalid SMD file" message when trying to install the USB memory stick, you will need to set the car clock to 00:00 01/01/2011 first then try again. I could not get my date to stay changed, it kept changing back to the current date, until I toggled the automatic clock sync setting on then off again. Also, since my vehicle is a 2014 I had to fool it with a 2015 or 2016 VIN to get to 16.40. The newest version I could download with my VIN was 14.7. I think the radios which shipped on the cars had newer versions, mine did. Looks like they dropped update support for the 2014's...

After I updated everything, I was able to use development mode to enable Mirror Link by copying the Russian ClientAppInfo.bin file posted on sourceforge.net/p/mylink-unlock-project . I have not been able to test the Mirror Link, due to my old Samsung S4 being incapable...but the icon is there now.
bionic,

I need to download and install firmware for my radio, steering wheel control is not working, and I'm out of warranty. Where do I go to do so?

It sounds like you went to acdelcotds.com, but what service did you subscribe to to download and what is the process? Can you download the file to place on USB, or do you HAVE to use the VXDIAG?

I'm hoping its as easy as the MyLink unlock tutorial sounds, plugging in the USB...

Any help would be appreciated.

Just had my 2015 Spark EV updated to "SW part number: 16.40-42475606" today to resolve issue with Onstar/Bluetooth Mic/Compass taking a dive. There was also a service campaign involving another software update to address "incorrect range estimate" which I didn't have any awareness of any problems on that front.

Been simultaneously working on the backup camera mod from another post in the mod section, while stumbling upon this...

https://sourceforge.net/p/mylink-unlock ... wiki/Home/

Took a gamble after I saw a Spark EV 2014 owner tried the 24.5 firmware with moderate success, only mine's the 2016 model... Do not do it on a 2016 folks. It worked, I have MirrorLink in the app screen now, but not only does that not illuminate when my S7 is connected, Android Auto enabled with the USB cable plugged in, etc, but the MyLink screen in general is extremely sluggish now, responds to touches 2 out of every 10 seconds, steering wheel buttons broken even after the fix applied... AND, the icing on the cake, the MyLink screen doesn't turn off when the 2nd blue wire on the aux connector is cut, effectively making the pavados method worthless on this firmware. I contacted my dealer after failing to find the 16.4 firmware online anywhere (had previously looked before taking the gamble knowing I probably wouldn't be able to downgrade myself) and am going to have to shell out $140 to have them flash the stock firmware for me again. I asked and they will not provide it to me on a flash for those here which I had been hoping for.

Long time reader, first time poster.

I have a Spark EV 2015 /w CCS.
My software just updated to version 16.1-95281509 (I think, not sure what caused error state)

When I turned on my car, it did not go into the green READY state.
A yellow car with ! Symbol was displayed.

I pressed the power button to turn the car off.
Attempting to turn the car off resulted in the car displaying: Initalizing....Wait to shift screen.
The car OS would then not turn off, and remained in this error state.

To fix it, I had to reset the car to turn it off.

Put the car in ℗ Park.
Press the power button for 5 seconds. (Do not press the brake)
Open the driver door.

The car OS should be OFF.
Turning it on again fixed the issue for me.
