Driving from the virus besieged New York to the freshly reopened and soon to be besieged Maryland to pick up a 2016 Spark EV 2LT in electric blue with DCFC, 11k miles on the clock and getting GM Certified.

Congrats dude! Are you driving it back? While it's super doable (albeit a bit epic for the first day of ownership (coming from someone that drove their Bolt 500 miles home)), be aware that all the Electrify America (EA) stations you are likely to encounter along your way home, appear to be manufactured by ABB, and quite likely won't work with your spark, due to an ongoing problem, that no-one "in the industry" is in a hurry to solve. As such, you should plan accordingly (although likely more expensive, I'd strongly suggest using other charging networks), so your first day of ownership isn't a nightmare.

If you're using plugshare, there's some asshat named Mark, who does his plugshare check-ins with a Spark, but he also primarily drives a Bolt EV (although he still owns his Spark). If you happen to see successful plugshare checkins at Electrify America stations (ie in Wilmington, DE), you should ignore or be cautious of those. Congratulations! I've mostly been very happy with my 2016 Spark with DCFC. My commute makes this car perfect on range and usability.

My only concerns have been wonky performance with the app and website. I actually had one experience where I couldn't get my battery status through the website (I don't have it on the app because I'm on the free account). It took a call to OnStar and a relink, which was successful. Of course the in-car infotainment system is no longer getting upgraded, so you may have problems with connecting your phone, which has also been hit-and-miss at times.

But again, I've been mostly very happy. I hope you also have good luck with it!
 
No, I wasn't silly enough to try to drive 250miles home the 1st day lol

I towed it home with my 2015 Toyota Highlander Hybrid, which dragged my mpg down from mid to high 20s down to about 18.

Looks like the exact same dolly I used back in May of 2015.
Only it was an 800 mile each way trip. The dolly was a ~$125 one-way rental. Borrowed SUV.
I did this trip without renting a room. I slept in rest stops. I was tougher back then! :roll:
I had an L2 waiting at home, so my first trip was to a, (free at the time) 50KW DCFC station. That was a brand new experience! :mrgreen:

You won't be sorry!!
And you won't stop driving it, if and when, the cybertruck appears, I predict.
+5mi. / kWh is hard to beat around town! Plus being able to see where you are going and parking like a normal person is also a +.

Did the same two weeks ago. Best deal for me was in St. Helens, Oregon, north of Portland. I live over 300 miles south, near the California line. Fortunately, my brother in Corvallis (in between) was seeking any excuse to use the Jeep Grand Cherokee with tow package he had leased last fall to two his camping trailer. So a U-Haul tow dolly was the obvious solution. My 2016 with 33,000 miles seems solid in the low 70 range max with no heat or AC.
