Re: Battery warranty advice for 2014 Spark

I hope that by the end of this I will have found the right words to say and questions to ask to get the battery tested for warranty service. Then I can share them here so others can have an easier time. I saw on another post that MrDRMorgan bought the service manual, maybe they can look and tell me...

Re: Battery warranty advice for 2014 Spark

now they are saying that the test they performed would not provide the kWh measurement. Sounds like a runaround and severe miscommunication between staff without any accountability!? Or they have the capability but failed to use the equipment properly? GM also contacted the other dealer in my area ...

Re: No heat in my 2015 Spark EV

Wow, thanks. At the risk of missing the obvious, I assume the fuses would be the #4 CHCM Fuse (Coolant Heater Control Module) and the #12 Auxiliary Heater Pump Fuse? They're not explicitly labeled on the schematic. Also, I'm curious; pumps? coolant? I know the Spark uses a resistive heater, but is ...

Re: No heat in my 2015 Spark EV

In case you wanted to explore the possibility of a blown fuse, this is the connection diagram for the cabin heater. https://i.imgur.com/EXaT0SA.png As you can see, the heating element runs off the high voltage pack and there are two low voltage fuses that you can check under the hood. I'll include a...

Re: DCFC message 'Charging rate limited to 30% at vehicles request'

Not enough info in the original report to help you. ( "g" ?? ) I did have a situation a few months ago where some EA (Electrify America) DCFC chargers would only charge my spark at 16 kW. And it was definitely the charger, as I had charged at a ChargePoint 24 kW charger at 22 kW (low battery SoC in...

Re: New 2014 owner; looking for info on getting Torque to work.

I already had Torque Pro. Set up the Bolt .csv info, and it seems.... off a bit. Tried to measure charge rate on my Bosch 240V 30A unit today, and it only indicated 8 amps, yet was to be finished quite quickly. I wonder if that's BATTERY current vs. inlet current before the inverter.... Yes you wou...

Re: New 2014 owner; looking for info on getting Torque to work.

TorquePro has an amazing feature where you can use the OBDII reader to collect and upload data in 1/2/5/20/60-second intervals for route planners to access. When going up mountains or long flat distances I'll use A Better Route Planner and TorquePro together with my phone and OBDII reader to read li...

Re: DCFC message 'Charging rate limited to 30% at vehicles request'

My guess would be that the battery pack is "coldgating". If it's a cold morning and batteries are very cold or near freezing, like 32ºF/0ºC - 5ºC region or less, fast charging could irreversibly damage the batteries as the lithium ions would be electroplated permanently, rather than intercalate whic...

Re: DCFC Troubleshooting

Hello, MMONTERO! I also am not familiar with reading the PLC logs but we can give it a try. Have you tried DCFC on any other stations besides this one? What do you mean by "none of the Spark EVs that are here are able to DCFC." Are you saying you've spoken to owners in Costa Rica with DCFC and they ...
