Re: Looking.. and looking.. for my first EV

I am a bit unsure of the value of the DCFC though. I'll unlikely to use it that much and even if it add a bit to the resale value, it's likely to be minimal by the time I sell it. I see others saying the same thing though but I just fail to see the value of it for me. Neither of our Spark EV cars h...

Re: 195/55r15 up front for over 1k miles. numbers

I did not purchase tires that can only be run in one direction... ...Also not rotating all 4 tires in a standard rotation cuts your tire warranty in half. This way I keep my 60k mile warranty. Maybe I'm stating the obvious, and maybe you already realize this, but I just wanted to point out that whe...

Re: Bolt/Spark Battery Swap?

You know, for a short while, I was seriously considering developing an aftermarket drop-in Spark EV battery replacement (with greater range, of course). But, the numbers just don't make sense. With what, 7500 cars in existence? How many need new batteries right now, today? How many will this year? n...

Re: How i changed my transaxle fluid

I noticed you're not running stock tire sizes (or rims). How do you have it set up? How is it working out for you?

Re: Battery warranty advice for 2014 Spark

So, I have a 2015; I'll say this from my perspective. Chevy makes a vehicle where the main component will last 8 years. After 7 years, they discontinue that component, just before they'll actually have to replace any of them. Isn't that the very definition of a Ponzi scheme?

Re: Door mirror. Parts fitment woes.

Good catch. Curiously, the GM parts catalog lists the same part number 95260968 for both the gas and EV version of the Spark: I'm not really all that surprised. For floor mats, they list the same part number for both cars as well. You can't order the ones with the EV logo on them any more. The ICE ...

Re: Door mirror. Parts fitment woes.

I can't personally confirm this, but I have read that the Spark EV has "aero-optimized exterior mirrors" that differ from the gas version. See this old press release from Chevy:

Re: Non fuel efficient tires

If you're looking to improve handling, then by all means, go for it. If you're also looking for cheap tires, it's probably not worth it. Generally speaking, low rolling resistance tires also have significantly longer life. After searching and posting on this forum, I just bought General Altimax RT43...

Re: Windshield washer does not work.

Funny, same thing happened to me. Didn't work when I bought the car. I just assumed it was out of washer fluid. Never got around to filling it until recently. That's when I discovered it was already full. And yes, of course, it was just a fuse. 10 Amps. I used a spare that Chevy provided so nicely i...

Wrong headlight indications?

Am I crazy or what? Has anyone noticed that with the headlights in "auto" mode, the indications are wrong, swapped, completely backwards? At night, when the full headlights come on, the symbol for parking lights is displayed on the main LCD instrument cluster (symbol looks like ... cat's w...
