Re: gearbox oil change

I'll try to find the info I have somewhere.
The way I remember it, there is no drain plug. You must drop the oil pan and probably replace the gasket.
There is a fill plug on the upper side area.

I'll post it someday. Until then it is not urgent for you to do it.

Dealer said the drive battery needs to be replaced. It's covered under the warranty.
Congrats!
Keep us posted!

Re: Wheel spacers ?

The lug nuts need a certain amount of 'thread engagement'.

Will moving the wheels outboard a 1/4" do anything for performance?

Re: gearbox oil change

I think it's due at 97k miles per the Owner's Manual. I'm at 92k miles so it's time! It takes a high end ATF. Mine is going to get Mobil 1 ATF of the proper grade. I have seen instructions. I'll track them down and post them here. You drop the oil pan, catch and measure the old quantity, change a fi...

Re: Battery Degradation vs Battery Limited Warranty

. The HV battery in the 2015 and 2016 Spark EVs is manufactured by LG. And I believe the same cells and Thermal Management System as the Volt of those years. There were coolant plates between the cells. With the '14 Spark EV and the Bolt the cells sit on a large coolant plates. As we all know the A...

Re: Charging stops at 52 miles

You might try a hard reboot by disconnecting the Neg 12V battery lead for a minute. But you will have to drive it at least below 50% SOC to get a decent reading from the display on kWh and % used, so you can calculate the packs capacity. If you have access to Torque Pro you can get numbers from that...

...Another user later in the thread had a similar issue and needed their entire battery pack replaced.... I'm not even going to go there yet.
Why not? It's covered by the 8yr/100k mi Power Train warranty. Your original problem is probably covered by the warranty also!

Re: Temperature problem?

Thanks again!
And now I can totally remove my back seats to get even more space. It's been a two seat cargo hauler for a long time.
I can't remember the last time I had the back seats up.

Re: Temperature problem?

..... Have you had the opportunity to access the high voltage service disconnect under the rear seat ( after disconnecting 12V battery ) and disconnect that as well?.. Thanks so much for posting all this info. It is encouraging to see an independent shop doing this kind of repair! One question: How...

Re: 2016 2LT DCFC pre-purchase advice

What is "goo"? :? The trip data shows 1194 miles and 4.4 mi/Kwh Tire sealant that you use with the air compressor. That trip data is just odometer with the equivalent of MPG for that trip. 4.4mi/kWh is just an indication of how gently or hard the car was driving. What you need to look at for a pack...
