...Another user later in the thread had a similar issue and needed their entire battery pack replaced.... I'm not even going to go there yet.
Why not? It's covered by the 8yr/100k mi Power Train warranty. Your original problem is probably covered by the warranty also!

Re: Temperature problem?

Thanks again!
And now I can totally remove my back seats to get even more space. It's been a two seat cargo hauler for a long time.
I can't remember the last time I had the back seats up.

Re: Temperature problem?

..... Have you had the opportunity to access the high voltage service disconnect under the rear seat ( after disconnecting 12V battery ) and disconnect that as well?.. Thanks so much for posting all this info. It is encouraging to see an independent shop doing this kind of repair! One question: How...

What is "goo"? :? The trip data shows 1194 miles and 4.4 mi/Kwh Tire sealant that you use with the air compressor. That trip data is just odometer with the equivalent of MPG for that trip. 4.4mi/kWh is just an indication of how gently or hard the car was driving. What you need to look at for a pack...

Re: Heater

...Another pet peeve, if I need AC on low, but it's still too cold, why do I have to blend hot air into it? Why doesn't the AC run on a thermostat at a lower duty cycle? Another big waste of fuel. I'm pretty sure most Hybrid and EV's run the AC compressor at variable speeds, as required. It's not O...

Re: 2016 2LT DCFC pre-purchase advice

Yes, two key fobs. Take $250 off if the dogs try to say 'Only one'. Yes, stock EVSE, air compressor and goo. If you lay down and look for any damage and see none, I would be tempted to skip a pro inspection. That's all they're going to do. Start with a full charge. Green dash light blinking. Go for ...

Re: rims/wheels size for mounting snow tires

Can anyone tell me if the front and back wheels/rims are the same (NOT talking about tire sizes)? The front and rear Spark EV rims have different offsets and can't be swapped front to back. The only tire rotation is side to side, so why bother with that. I have a set of alloy wheels that have an of...

Re: Double Drive Batteries/Range

1... I will rebuttal that there is no such thing as a 400V high voltage battery,.. (for the Spark EV) to reach 363V nominal... 2. I don't want to get too off topic here, but I wanted to point out, NORTON, that you have played devil's advocate ... regarding questions about changes or modifications t...

In an EV, heat pumps probably save weight too. I imagine you'd use the same compressor, etc. as the AC, so no extra hardware for the heat.
Only what about when it gets so cold that heat pumps no longer create heat?
What about when you need heat and dehumidification (defrost/defog) at the same time?
