After market range extender?

Mon Jan 20, 2014 8:26 am

I just read about this after market range extender from KSPG.

It looks like a really good solution for range anxiety to me. Anyone know more about it? Is it viable technically and financially?

Just a relatively cheap Honda generator can be a really good "range extender", but then my argument would be that if you need a petrol engine, the range of that particular EV isn't adequate for you.

My "pushing the envelope" on EV's is legendary, but I've not once plugged into a generator in 65,000 electric only miles. Unless you're traveling into truly undeveloped areas that have no power (like a wilderness area), you can generally always find electricity somewhere.
Contrary to many folks here, I do NOT own a LEAF.

I like it. I think it’s a great option to extend the range. Sure, you’ll burn some fuel but it can’t be nearly as much as an automotive ICE. Now to search for the price on this thing...
