2015 Spark ECM/PCM Replacement

Fri Apr 16, 2021 12:33 pm

Hey All,
My Spark started doing some funny things, I did some googling, and I found this thread: https://www.mychevysparkev.com/forum/vi ... php?t=4880

The "Propulsion Power Reduced" error is exactly as described there (still intermittent for me at the moment), and the OP's ultimate solution was to have the dealer replace a bad ECM/PCM module. I'm wondering if I can get ahead of this before my car fails entirely, and if anyone has experience replacing this computer themselves?

Another user later in the thread had a similar issue and needed their entire battery pack replaced.... I'm not even going to go there yet.

Why not? It's covered by the 8yr/100k mi Power Train warranty. Your original problem is probably covered by the warranty also!

GM needs Modern Troubleshooting tools for Modern EV's.
3 step Trouble Tree, 1st try, nope, 2nd try / cost $800. 3rd try fixed it.
