Just called the dealer and the finance manager didn't seem surprised by my frustration. I'm getting a refund, uninstall, and lifetime warranty to cover any permanent damages. (its just a 3 year lease). I'll let y'all know if it gets better.

My understanding is that it can only pull as many amps as it needs. So having more amps won't hurt it. Having too few amps will trip your breaker, and maybe blow it.
