How to replace key fob battery

My Spark EV is now telling me that the battery in one of my key fobs needs replacing. I just found a video that explains the process nicely: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85EEB9W6h1c (Don't worry that the part number doesn't match. The procedure is the same.)

Basically, flip out the key switchblade then pull apart the bottom cover. Put a new CR 2032 battery in, positive side up and you're done.

when i bought my car i just replaced the battery. i didnt know how long the battery had left. i have the other in storage until needed. 2 dollars for a pack of 2.

Yep, this burned me and the neighbors a few days ago.

I walked out to my '14 and the doors wouldn't unlock from the fob, that fine early, early morn.
So, like a DS, I opened the door with the key.... HONK, HONK, HONK.
I fumbled around and finally held the fob near the key slot on the steering wheel while poking the power button.

Almost 3yrs on that battery. I need to change the one in the spare fob too.....

I date these little 2032's in anything I put them in, with a fine tip sharpie, just for GP's....
