Wow, how funny I came here for the same thing
From what I know it is not the best practice but it works. I have done it in the past. The tire shops do not like to change them out and mix tires for liability reasons. I am looking to put sport tires on the front, I know I will lose mileage but I...
GM is not in the QC infrastructure business and I don't ever see them going this route, but they could fund a deployment of SAE QC at select local dealers. I agree this is not the ideal place for them, but GM needs to support the choice of adopting the SAE QC standard. It would be much easier to...
By far the number one thing is a onboard 6.6kw charger at the very least! Next give me some options, I want more then just heated seats and a leather wrapped steering wheel. Now support your choice of DCQC by deploying stations at dealers, at the very least. What is the point of putting a DCQC...
I enjoy both my Volt and Spark, but I wish they would put more then just a minimal effort in to their vehicles. We know the spark EV is just a compliance car, but it could be so much more. The Volt is actually an excellent vehicle, and I hope they address it's few short comings in the next...
Just saw this story about Nissan and how they are now working with the Major companies that operate public charging infrastructure to provide 2 years of free charging. I wish GM was as dedicated as Nissan is with EV's. I have a Volt and a Spark EV, but when my lease is up on my Spark, I may have...
Last summer installed a 1.72 Kw system ( 8 Panels). I will be adding more this summer. I completed the whole system myself, it saves a lot on the cost of a system. I am making it a 3 year project. I will add 8 more panels this year and 8 more next year by that point I should have a net gain on...
Yes, I find this annoying. I have a Spark and a Volt. The Volt is nice you just press the button on the door handle and it unlocks or locks. The rear hatch also senses the remote all you have to do is touch the button and the hatch opens.. no digging out the keys.
bernie82 I get what you are asking, You want to know if there are any QC available in northern California that are compatible with the Spark. You just gave one example of a Quick Charger like the ABB Tera 53 CJ that is dual standard, It has a SAE and a CHAdeMO plug.
If you look at Plugshare, it...
I have been down to 3 miles, but that was on purpose. I was low when I got home so I drove around just to see how low it would go. I chickened out at 3 miles.
WOW $9.95 Per charge! That looks to be a bit on the high side? Also looks like you can set up a monthly plan with this company it may make it more reasonable, but its not clear what pricing will be after the introductory rate.

There would be many variables to this question to properly answer it. It would be situation specific. For example I have a hill that I drive down everyday on my way to work. about a 6% grade for 2 miles, at the bottom there is a tunnel and traffic always slows to a crawl. If I coasted down the...
Use either the cruise control, or a steady foot on the accelerator. This should allow you to continue down the hill and still gain good regen, or you could do what I like to do keep it in D and once you get going to a decent speed drop it in L and then repeat.
Buying is really never a bad thing, especially in your case with that many miles you would not want to pay the penalty; at .25 a mile it would cost you about a $500 penalty if you got a 15k lease. Just make sure you CAN use all the tax credit this year you would not want to waste it as you can...
