Bosch Power Max charger died after 1.5 years

The other day I noticed my Power Max charger was flashing red. I called Bosch tech support and they walked me through the troubleshooting procedures. Nothing we tried worked. So they determined my unit was hosed, and recommended I buy another (since it was out of warranty). I asked if it...

First SAE CCS Fast Charging station in MD

Right now there are 14 DCFCs in the Baltimore metro area. Most are either on the Chargepoint network (at Royal Farms Stores) or EVgo network. The RFS chargers are $0.29/kwh, $3.50 minimum. The EVgo chargers are $10 per half hour, if you aren't on one of their plans. I'm hoping that we get...

OnStar vs Spark EV energy efficiency disparity

Now that the weather has improved I'm tracking my energy usage more closely. I noticed something odd recently in how OnStar is reporting my efficiency, vs. how the Spark itself reports it. I reset my trip odometer the same day every month to measure kwh/mi over time. For the April segment, the...

First SAE CCS Fast Charging station in MD

New DCFC station has opened at the Royal Farms store in White Marsh. This one was not in the original rollout plans. https://www.google.com/maps/place/10740+Pulaski+Hwy,+White+Marsh,+MD+21162/@39.379941,-76.4308357,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x89c7e2f239ab262f:0x2b8ecbffa772be07?hl=en

First SAE CCS Fast Charging station in MD

I used the one at the Royal Farms in Cockeysville, MD this afternoon and there were no issues. Cockeysville, Urbana, Glen Burnie and Westminster are $0.29/kwh, $3.50 minimum. Arbutus is free, for some reason. And although they are on the Chargepoint network, not all of them are visible in the app.

New owner in Baltimore, MD area - best practices question

I'm not sure my AAA covers 'ran out of juice!' If it does, I'm pretty sure they'd limit it to 'tow the idiot to the closest fast charger and raise his rates...'

New owner in Baltimore, MD area - best practices question

Yes, there is a free fast charger north of my destination. It is a bit out of the way but I think I can make it there afterwards. Will have to experiment.

New owner in Baltimore, MD area - best practices question

Thanks for the response. I use the L setting almost exclusively in local driving. I'm learning about the effects of heat on range, I never would have thought it made that big a difference. I'm also curious about the impact of passengers. I'm sure adding weight reduces range but I don't have a...

New owner in Baltimore, MD area - best practices question

Greetings, I just leased a Spark last week and have been taking it through its paces. Getting it home from the dealer was a nightmare but after that it's been a real pleasure. Is there any comprehensive resource on best practices to maximize range, in a practical way? Right now my efficiency...
