Where do we all live? Sparks are dispersing.

I'm in Toronto, Canada with our 2014 1LT, owned since mid-2015 (was bought with about 1,400 km on it). Now we're at around 36,000 km, been relatively trouble-free. What we've done so far: -replaced stock tires with Michelin Premier A/S -close to 30K there was a creaking sound that we thought...

    Key/remote issues

I don't know if leaving the keys in the car would drain the remote battery, it may just have been a coincidence. But we did have an issue with our 2014 and did see the message, and I think it was just time to replace the key fob battery. What would also happen is that when the car would be...

Winter Wheel Recommendations - 2014 Model

Looking for recommendations for wheels to mount winter tires on. Have not ordered the tires yet, but will most probably be 185/55/R15 Michelin X-Ice Xi3s. Was thinking just to get steel wheels, but if there are any decent alloys people have had good experience with, open to that as well. As...

    Replacement Tires - LRR All-Season

I am noticing a 6% drop in range this summer (Michelin Premier A/S) vs last summer (stock tires). I switched over in winter and was not paying all that much attention at that time, but did not notice any significant drop at that time, whereas now in summer (i.e. 'max range' season), I noticed...

    OnStar and MyChevrolet App Functionality

Just passed the 2 year mark of ownership of my 2014 (car has been great), and also the expiration date of the prepaid OnStar plan (I had the navigation package, purchased by the previous owner). I was under the impression that the basic OnStar plan would still allow full basic functionality in...

    Tire advice

Since installing 195s all around is deviating from the original spec, anyone have issues getting 195s installed at a shop? I am looking at either Costco/dealer/tire shop do this and I can see them denying an install due to it being out of spec (I have not asked yet, but I see verbage to this...

    Voltec Level 1 EVSE

Fellow Canadian here - that's horrible! Was it plugged in/charging when the theft happened? If you have the feature enabled, your horn should have been going off when it was unplugged. Those things are pricey, I think on eBay they go for $300+. Good luck with the search.

    Tire advice

I wouldn't necessarily say that. For sure, they are inferior to having dedicated winter tires, but definitely not "barely better than summer tires". It is also dependent on who is between the seat and the wheel, and what speeds the car will be driven at (i.e. highway vs. city). In this case...

    Tire advice

I don't think you'll be going anywhere fast then. Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but as I understand it, you need TPMS in at least the drive wheels, or it don't go...

    Tire advice

This is what I was leaning towards. Heard good things about the Michelins in terms of tread life and decent performance in winter weather. They are indeed one of the pricier options, however. I don't know how they are priced south of the border, but here in the great white north, I am looking...

SparkEV 1000 km in 16 hours video

That's pretty good. I note, however, that he appears to have used one charging network exclusively during the trip (and was able to use DCFC each time). The Province of Quebec is a step ahead in terms of charging network/partners and fast charge stations. You could try that here in Ontario...

    It's not a lease - I do own it.

    Tire advice

I am looking for some advice on buying a new set of all-season tires. There are a few other threads that I have scanned through, but have not been able to come to a consensus on what tires would be best. I also have a question on whether I should just stick to the stock spec with 185s up...

My five month review of the Spark EV

Nice review. I have had mine since June 2015 and it is a blast to drive. Just to follow on to your points about the car's small size making it easier to drive/park, it's really amazing how much space you gain by switching to this car vs almost any other car. This is a side benefit that I...

    Why the horn warning?

I think it's important to distinguish whether it's the 'chirping horn' (it's actually the same as the pedestrian warning sound that comes if you pull up on the turn signal stalk), or the full-blown horn. It took me a few days to figure out what I was doing wrong, but if the car is locked and...
