Most efficient tire alternative to stock tires

Thanks also for the Firestone Fuel Fighters recommendation. I can't seem to find them nearby but they seem to have a good reputation.

Most efficient tire alternative to stock tires

The General Altimax RT 43 seem to have good reviews and seems to be a LRR tire. It is available for both front and rear sizes. It is also somewhat economical. I'm going to give it a shot. https://priuschat.com/threads/general-altimax-rt43-review.172249/ In general, I've found the Prius owner...

Most efficient tire alternative to stock tires

Thanks JPL. In the meantime, I have been able to find the stock Ecopia 150 in 185/55R15 at America Tire for the front wheels. Perhaps using a mix of those in the front and the Kumhos or Michelins in the rear might preserve some of the original range. Another option that the America Tire...

Most efficient tire alternative to stock tires

It looks like I've worn out the tread on my rear tires and need to replace at least the two rear tires, possibly all four. I looked at the previous threads on this forum and unlike them, I am not particularly interested in improving the vehicle's grip/ride/performance. I just want to maintain...

Value of Spark EV has gone up

Like the previous poster mentioned, the car has a 8 year, 100K mile warranty, so you're protected from complete failure until then. What is more likely is a minor capacity loss that reduces your available range. I'm hoping that with the excellent track record that GM electric car batteries have...

Charging frequently to full vs dropping to 30%

Your experience, especially with the regular summer charging, is reassuring, MrDRMorgan. I am hoping that I can charge frequently without impacting the long term battery capacity too much.

Charging frequently to full vs dropping to 30%

Is it better to "top up" frequently to 100% or is it better to wait until <30-40% charge before charging back to full. Many days, I only use about 10-20% of the battery and wonder if there's any harm in charging back overnight to full each night? I know some Nissan Leaf owners typically "baby"...

Is Spark EV BEST Budget option? What should be looked over?

1/ For the OP, one factor to keep in mind is that the Spark's trunk is almost useless for any decent sized baby strollers. Child car seats also are a tight fit. If you are confident that you will _never_ consider using the Spark for transporting kids, that is okay. Otherwise, the Prius C on your...

Value of Spark EV has gone up

In Northern California, you can still pick up a 2014 Spark EV with DCFC for $8K. http://www.veracomford.net/used/Chevrolet/2014-Chevrolet-Spark+EV-2417f8010a0e0aea4a9cbb01cd720148.htm?searchDepth=2:5

New (to me) 2014 Chevy Spark EV - a couple of questions!

Yes, that is the exact one!! It was priced so low that I got the car checked by a mechanic to make sure the dealer wasn't pulling a fast one on me. Thanks for the information on the brake light TSB, I will ask them for that one specifically. It sounds very useful especially because L mode is...

New (to me) 2014 Chevy Spark EV - a couple of questions!

Haha, what a coincidence! Yes, this was from the Ford dealer in San Mateo. Though, he has like four of them, so it may not be the exact same one you were watching. Yes, 15 mins from 30% to 90% was what I was hoping to see. Instead, I added just 6 KwH (~30%) after 30 mins. Agree that evgo just...

New (to me) 2014 Chevy Spark EV - a couple of questions!

Thanks for the welcome. D'oh on the green battery icon! Didn't realise that wasn't just a fancy graphic and an actual battery capacity meter :) I was at 30% capacity when I started charging at the 24 KW DCFC. Agree that I should really try a 50 KW DCFC. There are a bunch of evGO chargers here...

New (to me) 2014 Chevy Spark EV - a couple of questions!

Hello everyone! Thanks for all the discussions on this forum - I learnt so much by being a silent lurker before jumping in and getting a used 2014 Chevy Spark EV (25K miles, lease return, Bay Area, California, DCFC, white). Thanks to the posts here, I could check the battery capacity...

    Recall notice concerning range estimation

Even if you haven't got a post about the recall, you can check https://my.gm.com/recalls to see if your vehicle qualifies.

FS: 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV (no DCFC) *SOLD*

That is a pretty good deal. I was just shopping for a 2014 Spark EV and the least I could find in Northern CA was 7.5K at a dealer. If you haven't already, I would suggest posting on craigslist and facebook marketplace because that is where all the local private party sales seem to happen.
