    Setting the charging time

I could never get my 2014 to follow the times setup in the rate schedule, it would start as soon as it was plugged in no matter what. I ended up using a water heater timer to switch on my Bosch 16A 240V EVSE after the rates dropped. Now that I have the Bolt, I have taken the timer out and gone...

How far away is the nearest level 3 charger to you?

Works on iPad too, Ah-Clem. LOL! Oh, and I was wrong about my license frame. it actually says "Head in any direction on the freeway of your choice" across the top and the bottom says "Ralph Spoilsport Motors". You can get it and the Bozo bumper sticker here...

How far away is the nearest level 3 charger to you?

Hideo Nuts mega bus? I hear beautiful "This Area" is somewhere between Austin and D/FW, maybe you saw it? I found a "We're All Bozos on This Bus" license plate frame for my 70's camper trailer on their website a while back. Still working on covering the cushions, so have yet to sleep in it, but...

How far away is the nearest level 3 charger to you?

Several @ 4 miles, plenty more within the Spark range. However trading in on a Bolt has cut my DCFC use to zero for the time being. Where I once had to fill to 100% to get home with 10 miles or less remaining, I just head home.

Where do we all live? Sparks are dispersing.

Hey, if any of y'all see my old one, post it's whereabouts here. https://www.voltstats.net/sparkev/stats/details/5397 #2014-39780 Electric Blue 1LT with DCFC and like new front tires.

Turning in my leased Spark EV in 3 months. Gonna miss it

Same story here, front tires had to be replaced about 8 months before turning it in. Went with the Bolt, no regrets. Taking it on a 200 mile round trip today, not going to miss spending a half hour at the fast charger, especially since the restaurant there closed down. Whatever you do, DO NOT...

    God forsaken 8 amp default

You could always do what I did: Trade in the Spark for a Bolt! Location charging that knows when you are home and allows you to set 12A as default for home... Or better yet, get a 240V EVSE and never have to deal with the menu again.

Federal Tax incentive available on a demo car?

Just to be clear, you mean your Federal tax refund check arrived, right? And that it was larger than if you had not bought an EV, correct? There's no such thing as a Federal EV refund or rebate, only the tax credit that reduces the amount of taxes paid. So you either send in less or get back...

Nearing the end of my lease, me and the Spark Mobile

Dang, should have taken a pic like that of our Sparkler. Lease return was a picnic when we bought a new Bolt EV. We only went to the dealer for a test drive, but once my wife heard that they would assume all responsibility for the Spark it was game over. Drove out in the Bolt, but kinda miss the...

Saying goodbye to my Spark EV and hello Volt

Just said goodbye to the Sparkler yesterday, looks pretty sad sitting in the lease return lot at the dealer. Long story short: BoltaDrome! https://www.voltstats.net/BoltEV/Stats/Details/9509 We looked at several used Spark EV's on our way out of the back lot, we may just have another one in...

    Bolt!

My Spark does not slow down till it hits 90% (on the one DCFC that has voltage and current displays in Benicia). The 80% "rule" only applies to air-cooled batteries, like Leaf. IMO. Also, the few times I did stop @ 80-85% I noticed that I got error messages about stabilitrak and/or power...

Home Stereo Bookshelf Speakers by Wharfedale as Rear Speaker

Nice! Did you notice what the original speakers were rated? As in 4 ohms vs 8 ohms I mean. Most car speakers are 4 ohms as that makes them more efficient and save weight. I'd bet the Warfedales are 8 or 6 ohms. That will not be a problem of course, and they are loud enough, so no worries. The...

LRR Tire Availability (besides OE Ecopia EP150)

It appears that the Sumitomo HTR A/S P01 is no longer available in the size 195-50-15. Not even the P02.

    Sparky's sign of Spring

75, 95, 114 today. Yesterday hit 93, hopefully the rain predicted for this weekend happens.

    Sparky's sign of Spring

I think I saw 79 miles once this winter. As for the windshield, I just keep one of those squeegee's on a stick in the back. A good one does not cost much. I have the long handle one from my pickup since the truck sits most months. One "weird trick" I learned while on a cross country drive: Wipe...

    Jack points and tire rotation

Are you saying that tire rotation is not included with the included free maintenance?

Front tire wear, is this normal?

This is a very dangerous thing to do kids, don't try this at home! Seriously, go get new tires when you first see the wear bars appear. Doing otherwise is a very selfish act out, not to mention illegal... Plenty of tread left on my fronts @ 12K miles...

    Issues with your Spark EV?

Both times I've seen those messages, it was after 20-25 minutes, charging a half depleted battery, not a quick top-off. I was in a hurry to get back on the freeway, and both times it was on the road @ 50-60 MPH when the messages came up. Left side is just where I happened to notice it while...

    Issues with your Spark EV?

The wiper blades were shot on mine from day one. Did not find out about it for 5 months due to the drought. Replaced under warranty. So far, I've had to add washer fluid, that's it. Oh, and I discovered that if I did not let a quick charge finish to at least 95% that I would get some messages...

PSA: EV batteries are A LOT bigger than smartphone batteries

Who's Hugh, and what does he have to do with anything? BTW, that same argument applies to lights when comparing Halogen to LED, people assume the difference must be huge, but it's only a matter of a few feet of range...
