    Aftermarket speakers?

Installed a compact / Low-profile subwoofer inside the EVSE storage area in trunk floor! My car did not come with the OEM EVSE charger, so I repurposed the space for this sub! A little cutting of the foam created a nice secure storage spot. Model is Sound Storm LOPRO8. It's about half the cost...

    Electrify America Charging Station Problems

Yea honestly at this point, there's no need to "wait and see" if they'll work. If it's by ABB it will NOT, if it's by BTC Power it will! Also, it appears to me that most (maybe all?) of the newly manufactured EA stations (within the last 6-8 months) are being done by ABB. I'm wondering if they...

    Electrify America Charging Station Problems

Thx MrDrMorgan I've been following this thread for a while! Also - Thanks for your feedback, there are a number of EvGo stations nearby so I may frequent them a little now that I've established my account. Mostly, I had been sticking to Chargepoint which I've found to be VERY reliable and can...

    Electrify America Charging Station Problems

I had another interesting experience that occurred last week. My usual DCFC was down so I tried a local EvGo station for the first time. After pulling in, I noticed the top of the machine said "ABB" on it and I had flashbacks to my terrible experience of two hours at the ABB Manufactured...

    Electrify America Charging Station Problems

Thank you for your Help MrDRMorgan! Also, I randomly came across this Spark/Bolt EV Post regarding charging issues even mentioning your post on Plugshare: https://www.torquenews.com/8861/fixing-chevy-bolt-ev-and-spark-ev-charging-systems Hopefully we can find some resolution as the EA chargers...

    Electrify America Charging Station Problems

Speaking of which - I know you've mentioned certain physical differences that help identify. Could you paste two pictures and specifically point out the differences? I'm having a hard time visualizing when you say one has "a rounded top with green" or what makes that different from the other...

    6.6kW charging

Do they?? I was unaware they shared ANY parts. From what I gather the two are totally unrelated except that I'm sure Chevy's R&D used information gained from their Spark EV and Volt to create the Bolt. I don't believe there are any shared parts......

    First Responder Guides

There's actually a sticker on the motor/inverter (under the hood) showing emergency personal where to cut power for the battery system as well!

Best way to charge for battery life

There have been literally thousands of posts with individuals producing long history and studies of battery data to support their conclusions on the battery degradation over time, use and charging. Honestly though? It's all pretty inconclusive. I haven't seen any hard evidence that charging to...

    Juicebox Pro 40

Just an FYI, although a Juicebox Pro pro brand may not offer smart charging features, the Spark EV has some built-in features that work similar to TOU. In charging settings in the MyLink center screen, you can set the charge to delay so that it won't start charging until middle of the night to...

    Charging while driving

Completely agree with Norton. You cannot charge the vehicle with the charge port while you're driving. The only other options are : 1. Increasing battery capacity (good luck with this one) 2. Adjusting your driving habits to increase your mileage on the battery you do have. Do you HAVE to...

    Spark EV Braking Question

It's definitely the car switching from regenerative 'braking' to actual friction pad brakes because regen can only slow the car to about 2-3 mph. Perhaps the software version in your 2014 is better than your 2016, or perhaps there was an update to the software that you're missing from the...

Do you have a Reddit account?

Much livelier discussion. New threads/comments are posted daily whereas this forum might see 1-2 a week. As an overall resource though, this site has way more historical and thorough information.

    Torque pro battery capacity guess...

A 45-50 mph expressway?? Where I live in metropolitan Atlanta (outside city limits), 45mph is most town roads, 55mph is expressway/highway and 70+mph posted is interstate. Add 5-10 mph for actual speeds vs posted. The longer I have my Spark EV the more I realize how I drive isn't as important...

    LED Headlight Modification

I have had good success with LED's in a few of my old cars with Halogens and the output has been exceptional so I decided to give the Spark an upgrade.I have had great success with the brand Hikari ( www.hikari-led.com ) on my previous cars, specifically the Spark EV needs the H13 base here...

    Vehicle history

Are you referring to gasoline Chevy Spark? Because the Spark EV doesn't have any scheduled maintenance on oil changes nor oil filters.. Especially under 3,000 miles

    Electrify America Charging Station Problems

WOW! Great work all! Hopefully we can see some progress here because using the ABB machines will allow me to travel farther out northeast! Plus as EA gains popularity and market share, we don't want to be excluded from the network access!
