I'm not sure why there would be legal issues involved simply due to the tire choice by the manufacturer. For decades, cars have come with staggered and/or directional tires that are not able to be rotated. Any informed car buyer should realize this is a possibility.

Look in to a product called Plastidip Goes on like paint, peels of when you're done. Pretty easy to work with.
