Thank you for getting us back on topic. Do you mind sharing what you paid, or at least what prices you saw? From what I've seen on the east coast, used low mileage sparks seem to be at least 10k (10-12k advertised).

I would love to get a Bolt but if I can manage to buy my spark off lease for 8 or 9k it's hard to justify the price of the Bolt (even with the tax credit)

You just need to have it in your pocket (in fact, I am not even sure if it turns if you put it in the ignition). No idea why they have the real key pop out like that (especially because happens frequently by accident).

yeah, and if you buy the car at the end of the lease they tax it again. OTOH they have a nice rebate of the sales tax for Sparks.

That's what I should do, but the dealer near me got shutdown in the recession so it would take a chunk of the day to get it fixed again. I think I will try to use it as motivation to learn my celsius/fahrenheit conversions. ;)

Yeah, I am fairly annoyed with the fact that they couldn't fix the deg C problem. He didn't even seem to know about it, so I gave him the bulletin number and then there's a notation on the receipt that the bulletin didn't work. I don't really want to give up a couple hours to get it fixed, but...

So I took it in for the airbag fix and they said there were two other recalls, one for the brake lamp and one appears to be something about dashboard messages for low propulsion--I could dig up the campaign number if it's of interest. However, they weren't able to fix the stupid celsius degree...

If you read the blog post he is not talking about an instantaneous GOM reading-- he is talking about driving for 70 miles and then plugging in the car and seeing what the cars says at that point.

I have an appt to get this fixed. Figured at the same time they could finally fix my temp setting (which still reverts to celsius every time the car turns off) and the regen/brake lights. Any other small fixes I should ask for?

The airbag one just came out-- I found out through the diagnostics page that onstar sends you (there's a link to check the status of recalls)

I don't usually pay attention to the mi/kwh during my trip, but there's a long hill about 5 miles from my house and I love to go down it and watch the mileage GOM get up to around 115 or 116 miles. :)

I was kind of hoping they might let me lease it month to month-- is that unlikely?

I also find the 120v EVSE to be perfectly fine. Obviously it depends a lot on your commuting patterns but I have not found a need for the L2 charger at home, and didn't bother getting my free one.

Some people like to get top of the line and some people like to be thrifty. ;)
