Found a recent article on Physics.org that mentions the LiFePO4 cells being a good choice for longevity in EV's. 2014 battery pack cells made by A123 Systems were of this type. These were replaced by LG cells for 2015 model.
The reading level of this "magazine" is well beyond my knowledge and skills but I try to pick out what valuable info I can. So will the "Real" Engineers stand up... I mean comment. There is at least one forum member who stated he works with batteries regularly.
I'd really like to find some unbiased, in depth comparison data between LiFePO4 cells and other compositions. They have been around for a handful of years but good, detailed info is scarce.
