Considering leasing a Spark EV. Feel fairly comfortable with the actual leasing process even tho I have never leased before. The insurance is another matter. What should one expect to pay and is it best to handle it thru your normal insurance or does the lessor have their own preferred agent/company? Any thoughts from experienced lessee? kenn http://www.mychevysparkev.com/forum/posting.php?mode=post&f=3#

Thanks ecilopaveht for your reply.
Is your insurance for 6 months or one year? Our insurance for our ICE vehicles is handled by Allstate agent but I think it is actually 'subbed out' to some other company they recommended. Live in a small town in Ca. a few miles inland near the center of Monterey bay.kenn

Hi ecilopaveht, Thanks for your Rapid response. Guesss one could roughly say the insurance is about $50 per month.

Appreciate your figures as well. Might want to consider upping your level of coverage, though, since the levels you have may not cover you if you hit someone. The Spark may be tiny and bounce off a lot of things without leaving a mark, but people still squish pretty easily.

I have AAA in Central California, and pay $600/year for this:
500k/500k Liability
100k Property Damage
$500 deductible Collision Comprehensive
250k/500k Uninsured motorist.

So $50/month sounds about right. I had it at a $1k deductible originally, but the bank holding the lease wanted $500.
