i read some older posts about people adding a alarm and it causing interference and problems with the display. I checked the original gm brochure and it says it has a TDS as standard. here is the link go to safety and security:

is it a misprint or are people just anal and have to put some aftermarket junk on their stock cars. from owners manual. warning about add on electrical stuff. Add-On Electrical
Equipment

{ Caution
Some electrical equipment can
damage the vehicle or cause
components to not work and
would not be covered by the

dealer before adding electrical

Add-on equipment can drain the
vehicle's 12-volt battery, even if the
vehicle is not operating

When adding electrical equipment,
it should only be connected using
the accessory power outlets.
The maximum power that can
be supplied by one accessory
power outlet or spread across all
three is 200 watts or 15 amps.
Exceeding 200 watts or 15 amps
may cause erratic vehicle operation.
See Power Outlets on page 5-5.
The vehicle has an airbag system.
Before attempting to add anything

There is a basic security system included in pretty much every recent GM vehicle, including the Spark EV. It'll honk the horn if you open a door without unlocking properly using the key or remote.

I would not add any after-market electronics to any modern car. Too much chance of causing electrical interference on the comm bus.
