Has anyone tried towing a small camper? Something around 1,200-1,500lbs? Does a standard Spark Tow kit work on the EV version? Any idea of the hit on the range, when kept around 50MPH? Would love to hear from people crazy enough to try something like this.

Can you imagine being stuck at a L2 charger and hopping in a little camper to do homework/work, or napping and eating comfortably while charging for a few hours? Could be convenient on road trips when CCS chargers are scarce.

I'd expect a massive hit on range, at least 25-50%, which means you can't drive anywhere...let alone somewhere nice to camp. The short wheel base is also bad for towing stability. Basically it would be useless and unsafe.

This sure seems like a bad idea, as the car has pretty limited range AND limited load capacity as-is. You'd drop from ~100 miles range at 50 mph to about ~60 miles of range. It would cost you several hundred dollars to get a custom made hitch and wiring. You'd only be able to accommodate a couple hundred pounds of tongue load and about a thousand pounds total trailer weight safely. That's a pretty serious compromise, IMO.

If you already had a tiny trailer that you infrequently need to get from point A to point B that is within a couple hundred miles and you need the Spark EV at both points of the beginning and ending destination and the Spark EV was your only vehicle...then it would make sense. That's a pretty specific use case, though.
